    Dean,

I'll have a dual sport soon enough; so we'll definitely get an '07 Alma ride in.

You going to Holt this coming Sunday? Never been, but I'll be in KC and can do it. Want to meet there or meet somewhere near your place and ride together?

Truth be told, the FJR is an awesome long-distance scooter. Did an IronButt back from Daytona Bike week - 1259 miles in 20 hours (with an hour stop for dinner). Not too fun on the creek crossing though. :D

McB and Rockhound, I've probably seen you guys riding around. Seems like everytime I go out, I run across a V-Strom.

So, if you see a guy on this:

You must have dropped by while I was out for a couple of hours getting a car towed in. That or I was out back working. I have to lock the front to keep all the strays from next door from getting in! If the OPEN sign is on, I'm there! As for the hosers at Cafe Racer, that's just more of their passive aggressive BS that they seem to have an abundance of! They know I'm there...I live there. I just don't feel it necessary to check in with them. The weather will be better and the offer stands for all you scooter trash-types when you're in the area. Heck, we've often been known to cook out on Sat evening and feed the whole gang!:lol3

Holt was postponed, cold weather I assume.

You can come up here or we can meet there. It can be twenty miles on blacktop or sixty miles on gravel. :evil
The tenderloins are pretty good, it's mainly just an excuse to get out and meet people. :deal

Im planning on going for now depending on the weather. I dont mind the cold and rain but most other folks tend to shy away from it.

Cold..........what cold. It is going to get up to 56. So the ride up will most likely be about 40-45. Not too bad.

An FJR had been on my mind since the re-routed the airflow in the '06 model to handle the engine heat. A dealer in Georgia had one offered at cost less holdback. I had an offer for the KLR at what I had in it. Just...couldn't...resist.

No on the auto. Bad write-ups in the cycle magazines, plus I like traditional shifting.

As for the twist of the wrist, back from Daytona in 20 hours, and I stopped for 1 hour for a nice dinner. For 2 hours across Tenn. and never got below 90 mph, usually above 100 mph. Need to get heated grips and put on the laminar lip I purchased for it.

    I do need a 650 dual-sport to have some off-road fun.

I used to race Hare Scrambles at Holt, in the early 70's. Still have a 3rd place trophy around here somewhere.

    Damn I'm old.
