The carbon plates costed about 65 Euro. If anybody wants some maybe I could help getting them...

The Michelin AC 10 are pretty good I´d say, but I have to ride them a bit more to check out what´s possible :evil

What happened to the Sebring exhaust & where did you get the Rally engine protection?

    &...
As an impecable 98 LC4 sporting a Rally bashplate is intriguing,
what's the story behind this older beauty?

I only use the Sebring exhaust for "rally" purpose, because its not street-legal any more. Also the black rims with Michelin AC 10 are only for off-road use.

The rally bashplate is selfmade :evil:evil:evil:evil:evil
Reason for the good condition of the bike is, that the pre-owner never ever has ridden a dirt road :eek1
He only used it to get to work every day :huh

Is it a 660 OEM exact Rally replica or your own design? (bashplate)

Efficient petcock protection & practical, btw; ...very desireable for its recent change of lifestyle! :norton

It´s (unfortunately ;) ) a normal 640 Adventure and I only did some mods to it.

    Let me rephrase the question:

Have you built an exact replica of the rally type engine protection (bashplate) or is it of your own design?

Sorry if I wasn' clear enough with the last inquiry as english isn't my first language &, if such for you, this thread ain't ''gonabe'' short! :lol3

It´s not an exact copy of the original rally skidplate.
Furthermore the box on the left side normally is for water, mine is a toolbox.

I was wondering about what seemed to be a rear cover on the left handside box.

My 640 is going through many changes from engine to plastics & very tempted to fab a Rally skidplate for petcock protection (the OEM ADV tank is a keeper for the time being) & much needed tools/spare parts storage space under its CG point.
Any info would be appreciated ...such as:
    - What aluminium type/thickness you've utilised for the fabrication?
    - Is it fixed only at the standard Adv frame attachement points?
    - How does it stands up when put to the test?
    &...
Anything different you'd do if you were to fabricate another one?
    :ear

    Btw,
Almost finished with all the mods but your bike looks so good that it has me considering adding a Blue/Orange paint scheme & fact is that I don't usually care for anything else than efficiency & performance on my rides:
    In other words,
That bike of yours got me going for ''Poser'' status; ...Darn It! :bluduh

With questions like these, you may wish to get in touch with an Aussie called ktmatt as he makes and sells his own version.

Unfortunately I had to unmount the engine and it´s now waiting to be fixed. The bearings in the gearbox and the driveshaft as well as some gear wheels are damaged :cry
Furthermore I´m thinking about to replace the Adventure by a 450 KTM EXC (much lighter and so on.... ) Will see...
