I made a very very good deal for this baby
Price tag said 385 Euros :huh
The dealer sold a lot of things in order to get more space.... so I got it for 100 Euros !!! :eek1
Seems to be really good quality, and it also fits with my Leatt Brace very well. Well.... I´m really happy now
Here´s a photo of the first ride with the new jacket :)
And also a new video... look at about 50 seconds, where I almost went down :eek1:eek1
I´m planning to buy this ´03 660 SMC engine in order to make my adventure becoming a "real" 660 Rally
Therefor I´ll need a Keihin FCR 39 and some other parts.....but I think it will be a nice project
Video camera's brand and model used to record this video?
Very good quality, I hope it's not a professional one ...
It´s a GoPro Hero 5 Wide which I borrowed from a friend.
From what model is the front fender on your bike?
Oh how I'd love to find something like that! How much will it cost you for the motor?
You don't replace it with 450, just add it. 640 + 450 is the way to go.
I have same orange fender, it's from EXC ktm.
The engine itself including the complete Magura clutch, CDI, ignition coil and shipping costed me 850 Euros.
It´s on his way now and should arrive me early next week.
I´m a bit worried about the wiring.. there´ll be some adjustment to do
Anybody knows whether the 640 alternator fits into the side cap of the 660 engine ? (Instead of the Kokusan 4k3 alternator... I know 640 alternator has 3 screws and 660 just 2, but this should be the smallest problem...)
And there it is
I just need a few more parts, before I´m going to put it in....
looks brand new... sem stator .. wonder why they used those?? are you getting the 660 rallye cdi???
It´s not SEM, it´s the Kokusan 4K3
I´ve got the 660 SMC 2003 CDI (out of the same bike as the motor)
Here´s an update:
I gave the bike a wash yesterday - it needs to be clean while working on it
After taking the photo above, I started to work and about 2 hours later, it looked like this
I´m still waiting for some parts to arrive, so that I can build in the 660 engine....
But maybe I´ll wait some time more and watch out for an Akrapovic manifold / exhaust
I just want to say that I very much enjoy your thread and your videos. Please keep them up!
And another update
Checked and cleaned the parts
I also mounted a new (used) front rack, because there was a weld broken at mine...
Then I build in the motor
There were a few little problems ...
The srew from the oil line in the front of the engine knocked against the frame and therefore I could get it in the right position.
But after some filing this wasn´t a problem any more ^^
All pipes are built on, coolant and engine oil is in...
Vacuum connection for the fuel pump and temperature switch for the warning light are also fitted.
Filling and venting the clutch
Built on some parts
This is how it acutally looks...
Installed a new jet needle
The next thing I want to do is buying an Akrapovic full exhaust system
I also noticed that the Magura clutch armature doen´t fit with the old light / indicator switch - I´m going to buy a CEV switch, which is a lot smaller...
You are doing what I want but the 660 wasnt sold here in numbers so I am buildin a 660 from parts.. I had a question do you know why they used a different stator setup on the 660 sm and did the cdi plug match up?? and Im dying to know if that front oil line you grinded has a jet inside or just a threaded hole near the bearing?? and finally one of the oil pumps look unavaible in the US pn .. 585380070000 Oil pump mikuni 185 660 99. is it avail in europe??
looks great .. dont forget the new shock and fork oil !!!
I don´t know why they used another stator setup... I´d like to use the Kokusan from the old adenture engine, but it won´t fit
The crankshaft is a bit different ...
The front oil line ends in a jet inside which lubricates the piston pin.
I checked the part number (yours has one "0" to much at the end) - it´s available here in Germany for about 75 Euros
No, you almost went off a CLIFF!!
Quit doing that or I'll tell your mother.
that explains the different crank bearing on the left case! and do the CDI connectors hook up... same connector??
