I was getting this "!keylo" error on my dash awhile back, so I replaced the battery in the key fob. However, I still get the "!keylo" message for about 5 seconds every time I turn on the bike. I can't recall if the message stayed on all the time before I replaced the battery, or if it was only on for a few seconds as it is now.

Can someone else with an LC w/keyless ride confirm that the "!keylo" message is automatically displayed for 5 seconds after the bike is turned on, or if I actually still have a problem?

    Thanks!

The word keylo does not appear in the 2015 owners manual. There are different symbols for low keyfob battery.

My 2015 said the same thing, replaced the key fob battery and message is gone. No mention of this anywhere in the manual.

It means you got a kilo in your tank! It's just so you know in case the police stop you or you're making a border crossing.
A BMW rep will be in touch eventually to collect it.

I'm getting the same thing. I haven't changed the battery in the fob yet to see if it makes it go away.

Exactly what does the battery do? There is a button on the fob, but I don't think it has any functionality with my dead stock 2015 GSA. I thought the keyless function merely worked with an RFID chip in the fob (i.e. completely passive -- no battery required). What happens if I ignore this keylo warning, and the battery goes completely dead?

When you replace your battery all will be well.

There's an RFID like function in the fob, and a more powerful function that requires the power of the battery to respond. It's the latter that gives you the ability to have the fob in your pocket or other places that are not 'close' in relative terms. Without sufficient battery, your bike will not start unless you hold the key against the sensor under the rear fender.

Thanks! I just replaced the battery and all is well. When I had the battery out of the fob, indeed I had to hold it up under the rear fender like the emergency key. I don't think I would have ever thought the battery powered an RFID booster in the fob. If it had died completely when I was up in Labrador last year I might have been screwed.

Does this info appear anywhere in the manual? I can't find it.

The button on the FOB is for the keyless locking on the RT and GT/L bikes. Does nothing on the GS/A

The buttons arm and disarm the alarm if it is installed. If the alarm isn’t set to turn on automatically when the bike is turned off

What...an epidemic of failing FOB batteries?
Mine took a shit today.....actually for the last week,I've been getting the "Yellow Triangle" warning a few seconds upon pushing the startup button.
It will appear for about 5 seconds or so then disappear.
Now today,I started getting the "Lo Batt" message.
Just changed the FOB battery, commence starting the bike and all warning symbols/messages are gone.
