who has an Ontario policy for off road kids under 16.... How much? Who? etc.....
I can't be the only one with this issue!
My three sons (all under 16) ride. Isn't it the bike rather than the rider that is insured? I am with State Farm, and I pay the basic rate (about $120 a year) for each of the XR70's.
I asked and they said that their friends can legally ride the bike if they came out to the trails with us.
So, unless I am wrong, you pay the insurance for the bike (all of the kid's bikes are under my name), but they can legally ride them.
Please feel free to correct me!
And this cant be your only issue either
I am not sure but I know someone who did it last year and it was free. They said it cant be done but with some further investigation made it happen. You can ask my friend for more details on it Blueillusion10 on this site.
I've got a ttr90 insured in my name through state farm and I think it's around 130 a year. No problems with the little ones riding it. In fact I'm looking for a 2nd one for my younger son to ride.
I'll have to check state farm tomorrow, best quote so far is 895.00 wtf... its a 01 DS80 2smoke,...
oh and my other issue.... I have friends with funny names... I can work that through.... eventually
mystery solved ,,, State Farm 112.00
who ever claps over spending 112$ need to shake their head... but a whole lot better than 875...
insurance... what a rip us off business..
Glad you got it sorted out. $875 is crazy!! That doesn't even make sense for street-legal insurance for that engine displacement!
DrillDogger: Maybe a nice TTR125 for your older son. Not that I have one for sale or anything (oh wait, I do!)
We had an issue too they wouldn't insure it unless me (a licences driver) riding the xr70.
insurance is a F&@king bullshit organized crime scam. I have to lie if I want to insure it, and the insurance will be void if an unlicensed rider has a accident. Who the hell do they think will ride a 70
Because of confidence issues my older son just isn't ready for a 125 yet.
No worries. It was a shameless plug anyway!
Picking up a ttr225 in Montreal this morning for my kid.
Good timing on this thread.
