This is why I'm ordering a titanium chainmail suit with welded-in CE armor. Better protection than full leathers, and just as practical for street riding.
Seriously, rock whatever you want on your body. I'm not going to judge. However, I do think textile is more comfy than leather, and both will provide adequate protection when you're falling down the mountain.
