Of course a track day is a fine way to pick up additional skills and confidence, but a simple parking lot course is still a valuable training tool.
I think the best twisty road skill is realizing you aren't on a closed course, and not riding like you are.

That was to be expected...
Unfortunately some put an emphases on technical skills in place of roadcraft. Riding on the street the way you would on a track is called being a squid.
Technical skills are important and practice is always good, but it wont replace judgment, awareness, consideration and not letting your ego make bad decisions.
they're itching for good crabs ... they think you can't get em down south...
