Damn hell of a hit:eek1
Destroyed the Corvette! Poor old guy in the Vette had nowhere to go, both airbags went off-
I would bet the rider above was not wearing a full face helmet.
It's a public road, not a private race track.
Even me as a Motorcycling n00b can say: Bad case of Target Fixation. Could've possibly evaded the crash if he continued to turn.
Seemed like a damn hard hit though...did you see that front wheel fly?
From happy day to bad day in seconds! Ouch interesting how he fixated on the car and not the road. The bike went from turning/leaning to straight on. Hope both guys r ok
WOW!!! :eek1:eek1:eek1:eek1 Any word on his condition??
Now the how? Not trying monday morning quarterback this guy, but as the sign on the tree of shame sez, learn from his pain.
1. Hamming for the camera, he's not looking where he is going and how fast he is getting there, totally not set up for the curve.
1a. Sez/thinks, Oh SHIT!!! Target Fixation at 1000% strength!
2. Starts to take the curve and may have leaned so much he drags a peg and looses traction? Maybe? Looking at the Vette!
3 Manages to save it from that peg drag skid, but in doing so has to straighten up and go straight. Looking at the Vette!
4. Now its just a matter of how fast he can brake and scrub speed and maybe at the last second steer and avoid the Vette. Plus how well is the Vette driver paying attention and what will he do? Looking at the Vette.
5. Looks like the brakes are not on until he is well over halfway across the lane:eek1 and if he is obeying the 30 mph speed limit (right!) on the Dragon.:eek1 Give the Vette driver credit for going off road, The only shoulder there is the lead in to the pull off where Killboy is standing. Sometimes there are other vehicles there beside Kboy and his pop up. Looking at the Vette.
Flying over the Vette.
I really want this to be a learning crash not a pile.
I would bet you didn't read the last 15 posts or looked at any of the images/videos.
Well, except for that little detail of running into oncoming traffic. Or did I miss that lesson when I took the training many years ago?
Or, join the killboy thread where it's been discussed and things like this are shared:
Poor dude in the vette got a face full of airbag
I didn't see any pics of the second guy that went down, all the pics are of the first one.
Photogs will most likely not post them as he is a "local"
Were the photogs shooting though? I havne't been able to see what was posted on the TN board as I'm not a member...
I don't think so as the thread from the TN board indicated something to the effect of thank god there were two riders stopped nearby that witnessed it or its possible no one would have known he went over the edge.
I'm so stealing that PIC
Series of photos here.
Damn! The flying body in pic 19! Should have concentrated on the road, not the photog.Anyone know if he was ok?
Also, how do you all manage to show the pics in the thread?
