Ban everyone that can't stay on their own damn side of the road.
That would pretty much clear the place out, or so it would seem.
Way over the line, and not even fast enough to fly the flags... they're hangin' limp (much like the rider). Perhaps their purpose is to obscure the license plate in just this situation.
Which side is that?
They should make the entire road a passing zone then everyone would ride on the wrong side all the time and it would be safer
I wish I would have had a helmet cam or someone taking a pic of me coming around a 25mph posted blind corner,(damn corn fields) while trying to miss the loose gravel to find a Iowa Highway Patrol car 2ft over a double yellow in my lane! We missed by inches and I was too shook up to turn around and get a car #. You should have seen the look in his eyes, and mine too probably! I'm very glad I wasn't riding too fast and had room to change my line!!!
Good thing you didn't hit him, you KNOW you would be found totally at fault. Probably get charged with attempted assault on a police officer, or something like that.
Sorry for my cynicism. Been around to long, seen to much.
WTF are you talking about? How dare you ASSume I'm/we're a law breaker...
Do you have any proof to support your findings?
Whereas a truck, it's proven can NOT safely navigate those roads without being LOC.
Thank you, and have a nice day... Come back now, y'hear?
PS, LOC is illegal for both parties. But one of them can't get out of there w/o breaking the "law".
So? What? We should ban all car/truck/MC use on all winding roads?
Does that sign say "wrong lane?"
If you can not tell the difference in risk between a motorcycle exceeding the speed limit and a vehicle that is forced to use both lanes (and sometimes a bit more), then any discussion with you on the subject is completely useless.
had not read this thread in a long time! but it reminds me why I ride a supermoto.
Only your word.
Some are more equal than others?
Pretty much sums up this thread.
Well, off to do a bit of countersteering...
Still wondering what all of these bikes pics here are proving...
I must say that I'm with scarysharkface on this. I don't think it's a good idea for a pyromaniac to shout "FIRE!!!".
They are proving that some, not all, bikers can't ride a sofa for shit...
Meanwhile all, not some, truckers can not drive a truck up there, period.
and a bike is what? 1/4th that of a car/truck/SUV... And what? 1/10th or 1/20th the size of a tractor trailer?
And don't think I forgot about scarysharkface
Lots of public roads built for nothing but pleasure. Try the 400+ mile Blue Ridge Parkway for just one example! NO COMMERCIAL TRUCKS ALOWED on most of it.
There are plenty of roads where commercial trucks are not allowed!
This thread is amazing, know it all ricky racers bagging on a joe who made an simple error like they never have. What a joke!
And no matter how good you are, a little luck will sometimes save your ass when you blow it!
The Cherohala just a few miles from the south end of Deals Gap
has no commercial traffic. It, along with the Forest Roads, are my
But, I don't see folk bagging on "a" Joe making a mistake -
It is the number of "Joes" making mistakes and the number of
mistakes being made that is particular
to Deal's Gap.
After the first 20 pages or so you are correct.
However, my point was that some claim never to have made that kind of mistake, and on that I call BS! We all f'up now and then, no matter how good we are. Mostly we survive it without a scratch, always we need to learn from the consequences, and somtimes we do not get the chance too, but that is the final time.
