What kind of rear wheel is that?
Are you Nucking Futs?
Looks like a steel trailer/car wheel and a car tire.
My guess is that he's more concerned with long wear than with cornering ability, especially if all that luggage is packed full.
No, He is a Dumb-sider.
Why the concern over the car wheel? I doubt it will fail due to overloading.
I wouldn't make that switch, but I don't see it as dumb or dangerous.
A friend of mine did that to his Valkerie . I just figure he doesn't care about the switch backs .
I don't see a safe issue just a fun issue ...........
Open your eyes!
D-siders dangerously force car tyres onto incompatible motorcycle rims often using air pressure at levels warned against in tyre industry standards.
Since that looked like a car-style rim on the rear of that BMW, its unlikely that the safety limit of 40psi was exceeded in the process of mounting the tyre.
In contrast I read a post where an actual D-sider boasted of using 100psi to force a CT to seat on a motorcycle rim.
Killboy just posted new photos!
Unfortunately I'm at work and am having trouble posting photos. Let's see if this works.
Halle-fucken-lujah! To the new pictures not your failure to post them.......I was almost ready to go back to the one finger braking thread.......:huh
Sheesh, leave town for a few days only to come back in and realize everybody's been threadshitting on me.
If I knew the standard for the Killboy thread was to only tell jokes that have never been told before... oh, wait, that's never been the standard in this thread.
I mean, I *could* have made my joke, and then added, "Just kidding, I like H-Ds, I know in 2013 they're great bikes," but that would be ruining the ancient joke passed down from our forefathers for 205 years.
P.S. Nice of you to go checking in my profile Dakez for your own lazy joke, I haven't updated it since I got here. The GF totaled the Vespa last fall, I've got a fun little Ninja 500 rusting in the driveway, and if the tax man is nice to me I'm picking up a new CBR250 in a few weeks. But I still love my Spyder, too.
P.P.S. Harley has NOTHING on my Spyder when it comes to leaking oil. That thing blows oil out its airbox like it's a snotting whale nostril. Hold a Spyder rally at the Pentagon and we'd ditch the Middle East for good.
Not another CT love/hate thread! Let's save some time and sum it up:
"I've run one for ??? thousand miles, had no problems and will continue to do so"
"I've never run one but YOU CAN'T DO THAT!"
BTW, you need little to no air pressure to set the CT bead on the MC rim. The problem is mounting the effing tire. The ME880 is almost as difficult.
