If intellectual stimulation is what you seek, may I suggest one of the CoG threads, or possibly here [thread=832794]How many fingers?[/thread] to dazzle the masses with your brilliant insights on the human condtion.

I wear a helmet to protect me from the elements, keep my hair from knotting up and keep bees and such from hitting me in the face.

Where did you find your force-field device? How much was it? Does it come in Black or Red? :ear

What I think is pretty funny is that this guy seems to think that crossing over a line or screwing up in a similar way is only due to a lack of skills and not a possible case of humanity. People as a rule tend to be imperfect beings who screw up from time to time. Even Valentino Rossi screws up on the track from time to time - does that mean his skills were lacking?

Perhaps the larger issue is that maybe, just maybe, the n00bs point may have already been made somewhere in the 19,846 posts in this thread.

You know, like maybe several thousand times before complete with multipage thread wars that went on for days.

oh boy oh boy oh boy

do we have a  here? man is it ever needed if not...

you make an analogy to Rossi? seriously? let's examine a major difference you may have overlooked:

Rossi is riding at the very edge of human ability, and bike ability. He rides that edge better than any other rider alive. Sometimes he goes over it... what happens when he does?

he goes into a hay bale and generally gets up and walks away (due respects to Wayne Rainey, who should have walked away).

what happens to a street rider when he messes up?

well, there aren't any hay bales, there's traffic coming in the other direction, and possibly trees / cliffs on the other side.

Here's another way to make the distinction, one rider is paid to push the limits, the other rider is incompetent and endangering his life. See the diff?

Look, obviously this is a hornets nest (thanks for the "stfu", it's caustic and not necessary, I'm a big boy), but my comments have nothing to do with type of bike, be it ds, sportbike, cruiser, cafe racer, etc etc.

My only point was that if yer not even leaned over and yer still in the wrong lane of traffic, on public streets... you got a problem.

when was the last time you drove your car in the wrong lane of traffic? get the point? Then don't do it with your bike either! Doing it on yer bike could get you dead!

And jeeesus as far as Lee Parks, MSF or any of the others are concerned; I personally would say you could buy a 10 buck book and practice in a parking lot and get a pretty good idea of what you need to know. You'd have to work at it, a good instructor could make it easier. A bad instructor could make it harder too!

My point, there's no excuse for being in the wrong lane of traffic, especially on your bike... none... nada... zip... zilch!

yer gonna get yerself killed doin that shit...
