That'll teach you to use filter oil instead of recycled chip fat then...
what has she got against dirty air filters???
they actually only ate the dirt that was stuck to the surface - but that meant they chomped about half way through in a couple of places.
Another ANZAC day and again I slept in and missed going to dawn parade and now feel bad.
Can others who didn't get up please post here to make me feel better.
Watched a doco on tele last night about life on the peninsula. Not nice.
I slept in too, but managed to wander past the memorial thing at about 11am when taking the kids to the park. Heaps of flags and flowers and things, so must have been a reasonable turn out.
Been hearing the machine-gun fire all day down at Founders...
Anyone riding in the south of the north this weekend? I'm going for a ride, just haven't figured out where.
so watcha got planned?
5-30 start, head for the coast and try to get an awesome sunrise photo.
I'm home already.
did you get wet???
A few small showers and plenty of wind, but it wasn't bad at the beach.
Quite a success...
Cool. Reminds me of a song
"It's another Tequila sunrise..."
every now and then you show glimpses of talent
You should see the other 160 shots I took. They all look like shit.
Michael asked me to post this given he doesn't have a third party hosting site. Originally this discussion was in the Schmiddty thread. Thought it might fit better here.
1978 Grumman AA-1C
Picture was taken at Lake Station airstrip (the glider strip running parallel to the State Highway West of St Arnaud) a month or so ago. We had stopped here for lunch before heading off to 6500 foot Mount Owen for a look. I have owned a share (1/3) of it since 2005. Great for reconnaissance of adventure ride prospects, so long as you dont want to land anywhere too short or rough (take off performance is not scintillating). Special feature of this design is that it made of traditional aluminium but bonded (glued) together rather than riveted.
so is it a flat four or radial or??Surely it aint a twin!?...edit its def not a radial
Just because its you.... I assume its a flat four, configured like a VW, ie 2 left, 2 right
Intersting what other riders are into when they're not riding.
Igormortis has his Wolwo, Michael his plane, Nordie his emporium...
Im sorry Michael but from now on I'm going have to refer to you as Wing Commander or wingco for short.
I can see your moustache twitching from here.

Hi mate, I am curious to hear what sort of kms are you are getting out of a fresh friction plate pack with the Rekluse clutch
well perhaps you could tell Micheal to get a hosting account and start a 'my other adventure rides (the ones that use reliable transport - not a bmw)' thread
I put 200+hrs on my first WR and the plates where still within spec and functioning fine (although they were discoloured as a result of me overheating/abusing the clutch)
The new WR has about 50-60hrs with same rekluse fitted and is fine despite being set up 'looser' (higher engagement rpm and wider engagement spread) than on the last bike.
its very easy to abuse the clutch as the traction is vastly better slipping it in 2nd rather than wheelspinning in 1st....
I have acute girlyness of the left wrist (chronic tennis elbow) and I simply could not ride the WR in tight going without the rekluse (I'd become another boring squid on a ktm 300 then...).
