I'll wager that Polaris simply made the founder an offer he'd be crazy to refuse. A fella only lives once ...

For US made riding gear I'd try Filson http://www.filson.com Their tin-cloth chaps, pants and jackets are pretty slick. They offer no armor and are not made specifically for riding, but they're US made and look old school.

I understand the economics of a sale, but I hate to see the "mom and pop" shops close or bought up. Bookstores, drug stores, coffee shops etc all taken over by big corporations....I just like the little guy.....

Hey, they make good gear ...but get a grip, $1,300 for a motorcycle riding jacket? To each their own...but this is like defense department prices...

The stuff I tried on was made in Vietnam. There was no way in hell I was going to pay that much coin for where it was made. :1drink

In other words, "Dont mind me, I'm a narrow-minded buffoon that only wants to deal with like-minded others."

No wonder I put you on my *Ignore* list long ago.

Pretty sure Motoport still has alot of their stuff U.S. made. And, if nothing else, the stuff they make is extreme heavy duty, like friggin' bear proof!

For the record I was referring to their Dakar and Mojave pants, and most recently their Stow Away jacket .... All under $200.00 ea.

.... if you don't like the price... don't buy.

My understanding is that Klim approached Polaris. They need to grow their product into the European market where there is more money to be made. That takes millions of dollars. They make a great product with a warranty second to none. If anything the Idaho site will grow with a consolidation of Polaris clothing in Idaho. win-win especially for Polaris.

KLIM is selling a couple models of pants at those prices, not all of their gear is on special sale.
The Dakar pants Ive got seem like they will out last me.

Check www.ironmandualsport.com for KLIM stuff. They will treat you right and always have some great nor cal rides coming up.

I like Klim gear, would like to pick up a new coat and pants, but whenever I shop for the stuff, it's kind of like shopping for an Ipad or a cell phone or an Xbox for the kid, same price no matter where you go. Must come from a subsidiary of the Chinese I-things, cell-phone and Xbox/PS manufacturing consortium, hence the fixed pricing...

Unless you're the lucky one that finds that one pair of 2009 orange Chinook pants in XXS-Short for 84.99...

BARGAIN! I'm goin' on a diet... HELL YA!!!!!!! :1drink

Strange bedfellows Klim and Polaris. I doubt you will see many Victory riders wearing them. Do you think it is intended to get BMW and KTM riders into their showrooms? What will they then show them? Victory / Polaris needs a competitive Dual Sport and Adventure Touring bike.

My cousin's husband in Minneapolis works for Victory and she won't let him buy a bike. Wrong on so many levels. :muutt
