No, I've seen these on the back of aluminum panniers. There is a small shelf bracket and the can sits on it and the can is strapped to it with a velcro strap.

Totally Wired Cycles (TWC) headlight harness
    TWC clutch/sidestand override kit
    TWC fuse upgrade kit

Different turn signals tried and broken (I'm rough on the bike)
    Ram-Mounts for GPS, etc
    Various luggage options available
Currently running extra heavy-duty inner tubes, D606 tires
Modified mounting for the side shrouds
1" access holes for seat bolts, headlight adjust bolt (covered with 1" plastic plugs)
Side panniers always mounted (they are DS tank panniers, but I strung them under the seat)
Prevailing torque nut on the countershaft sprocket
Lots of other small things added or changed

Happy with most everything I've done to the beast. Some things weren't as useful as I had hoped, but few regrets.

When I'm ready to rebuid a new KLR for RTW travel, I'll know what works and what I need.

    Cheers!

They feel and sound like amazing road tires on pavement (after the first two to five miles that is, during those it'll feel like you're on cinder blocks). Off road it'll feel like you're on your 606s after you've worn down about one third of their knobs.

    Big T,
I was unaware that you could get color inserts in a Corbin seat.
    That looks killer!
did you order it direct from corbin or did you go through a distibuter?
I wish I had known when I got mine

I'm thinking about selling the entire bike.

I really really really want an new XR650R or a TE610. selling the KLR would get me part of the way there.

    anybody interested?

    Hello all!

I know this thread has been going on awhile, but I am new to ADVrider and would like to share a picture or two of my ride. In addition, I would like to commend others on their rides.
