Man, some of these bikes are truly showing some spirit. I wanted to start this thread so I could see what mileage people were getting out of their bikes, so I could get an idea of the life I should be expecting. I know this is predicated on care etc. But I have to say, I didn't expect to hear about such high miles on these bikes. That's great. :clap

2000 KLR -> 35,000 trouble free smiles. Doo was done by P.O. Doesn't burn any oil, starts everytime, runs great. I payed attention to maintenance, and changed the oil every 3,500 miles. It's a great bike. Just sold it to my brother...damn I'm gonna miss it:(: , but I expect he will let me take it out for a spin every once in awhile.:evil

    Cheers.

I'm glad to see so many high-mile KLRs represented.

I just picked up a 2000 with 3000 miles for $2k:deal I've been giving it a good going over while waiting for this white crap to go away. I'm looking forward to riding the wheels off it over the coming years.

I got an 05 in Dec. of 2008 with 969 miles on it. Now it has just over 14000 on it now... No problems with the bike over all.. Mostly just me beating the piss out of it... I ride off road alot and end up chasing KTMs all over NC.... But its fun... I love it.. Hope to do the TAT this year with some friends...

1989 KLR 650 bought new out the door for $3000. I'm on my second ownership, a friend had it for maybe 1500 miles (in 9 years) I bought it back, it has 28,000 miles now. Changed oil every 1500 miles with store brand car oil. Factory doo hickey, I wasn't on the internet then, losing sleep over motorcycle maintenence.

One of the reasons there are so few miles on it is that I've been spending some time working on (and riding) a KLX250 that I bought a couple of months ago.

My 1998 has 7,000 miles on the clock......What, you say? I just got her in January and I live in the North East! I did get in a quick 70 mile ride this past Saturday! Now the wind is blowing 25 mph outside the house and the drifts are gettin' taller with the latest Nor-Easter.

    Spring can't come soon enough.
