2008 KLR 650, runs better than new as its broken in now.
18,041 kms when I parked it after the days ride.

Doo is done, adjusted 1 exhaust valve, several oil changes, 5 tires worn out 2 fronts and 3 rears, battery expired this Jan replaced with sealed one, 1 new headlight bulb, dealer replaced all 4 signal lights under warranty 2 were broken when it went in, progressive fork springs and fresh fork oil.

A lot of smiles, and I look forward for to many more miles.

Closing in on 24,000 miles on my '02. I Bought it in 06 with about 2k on it and quickly did 3 6,000+ mile trips. I Haven't done a long ride since my son was born almost 2 years ago, but plan on doing one this summer before our 2nd kid is born. Hopefully get I'll get to 30,000 before fall. I'll admit that I burn a bit of oil, but not complaining...yet.:D

I've got nearly 15K miles on a 2003 that I bought last year (had sat in a guy's garage with 300 miles on the ODO, not even broke in yet).

I've never run synthetic in my KLR. I change the oil out every 1,500 with either Mobil 1300 or Rotella 15w40. Castrol 20w50 in the summer when I'm touring. Not to start a war, because I'm always willing to learn, but in my readings the KLR shears the oil pretty quick (synthetic or otherwise). Maybe someone can chime in with alternative means, but for now I leave synthetic to the V-twins.

I have liked kdxkawboy's posts here about the dohickey. I back off and hand-tighten in it back (stock 'hickey) at every oil change. 130K on his bike with the stocker is amazing.

I aim to break 100K with my KLR.

You can't make a comment like the above and not elaborate--it's against the rules

Rolled over 30,000 miles last week riding home from our KYADVRiders Thursday night ride. I've put about 800 of those miles on it since purchasing from an inmate here. Lovin' every mile.

My speedo drive crapped out a few miles back, disintegrating the tabs in the hub that are used to drive it. My mileage is not entirely accurate, but when I put on my replacement Vapor speedo, I programmed in 80K Km (50K miles) as a reasonable estimate.

I'm now at about 81,500km. It runs like a KLR.

My speedo cable pooped out as well, it took about a month for the new cable to arrive because they sent the wrong one. but I am now turning over about fifteen thousand. I'm headed to prudhoe for the UCC, yeah baby, I'll be pounding out more miles.:clap

'08, 3200 mi when acquired last fall. 5500 when I sold it last week and it went off on its merry way. Let's hope it is a win-win situation, for the new owner, and for me, too. Sadly, I really didn't take to the beast. Instead I just got a bone stock sorted SR500 with 6k on it, and saved some coinin the process. So, its not Thumpers I don't love. But I guess we'll leave it at that, no need for any more KLR diatribes! I'm glad most people like them although, I admit I did like the tank capacity.

My 08' now has 22,150 miles on her. Just got back from a 5k mile 2 week trip a few weeks ago. My bike was loaded like a pack mule. She is a daily commuter and an occational road trip machine. She has worked flawlessly.

bought the 09 new last may with 1 mile on it, 10,700 miles as of now. It is my daily commuter. Longest single day has been about 200 miles. Longest period that it hasnt been ridden is about 3 weeks in the last year. Other than a broken speedo cable two weeks out of warranty it has been a solid preformer.
