I'm fond of Vancouver island, aye.I used to do a weekly trip with a truckload of produce into Vancouver itself and was also lucky enough to catch the ferry once a month at the Tsawwassen dock and go to Naniamo.Back to KLRing

Haha, I guess it's the perspective... The top box is 46 liters. It's the one I use every day. The panniers are 35 liters each, and I got them today for future trips.

I was shocked how much "shiney" there was under all the dirt & chain lube spatter.

I'm pleased with the condition of my sprocket. I don't ride very hard though.

Took this a couple years ago on Cumberland Pass, Co., late October. There's a Fla. tag still laying around up there someplace. :D

everyone says the white KLR is straight out of Battle of Hoth Star Wars, so I went with it:

I know I lost the fairing on the 5 on the way to Mt. Wilson...

Ok, I know that topbox. :evil

Can you tell us more about how you like it, is it heavy, was the inside a mess, and how do you like the fit?

It's pretty light, actually. The box is aluminum.

I like it, it's quite stout and seals well, it will hiss when you open it up after elevation changes.

Inside was very clean, the foam that it comes with it cut into shape and laid in place, it's held in by the shape of the box. Pull it out and you've got a perfectly clean setup.

Here is another shot that shows it opened up:

and here you see the top lying on the ground. There are six latches, no hinges.

Thanks, it was a fun project. $25 in paint and $25 in decals.
Learned about ABS repair with 'plastic welding' and ABS cement.
Also, was able to paint the seat from blue to black with Duplicolor Vinyl and Fabric spray paint. The seat looked like new when done.

The bike looks very much like a modern bike.

    Thanks
    Simba

Ah you beat me to the stormtrooper decal!
Looks good! I bet plastidip is a lot tougher than rattle can primer.
