Wow! Lot's of inspiration in this thread. I picked up my '93 last September as a post divorce gift (reward?) to myself 3 days after it was final. Love this thing and my FJR has been basically collecting dust since!

The day I brought it home, yes I know my yard looked like crap.

2 weeks later ready, and gone, for a multiple day camping trip with a few other KLR's.

The cut out has worked fine, the plastic is fairly stiff anyway, I have had the packer full and another dry bag strapped on top with no issues.

Is that bedliner material or rhino lining? Or a crinkle black paint job? Either way, that looks great!

Just brought mine home today. 22 miles on it so far, and it's already gotten wet and a little muddy from the ride home.

    Thanks!

The graphics are a '14 thing...I think you either get a green bike with the previous year's graphics, or if you get the matte grey/black, you get different graphics and a price tag that's $100-ish higher. Or something like that.

I forget what the tail bag is...it was around the house and I grabbed it before picking the bike up. Roomy and easy to attach though.

I think I may have accidentally stumbled on to the upgraded bits. There is an adjuster on the rear suspension, but it's dark out now so I can't get a good look. I've honestly never ridden a KLR before mine, so I can't offer a direct comparison, but the suspension does feel firmer in the showroom than others from previous years that I've sat on before...less sag from my fat ass on it. :D On the road both the front and rear feel pretty firm, although there is some brake dive...not bad, but it's there.

I think from your pic you've scored the good bits - the seat looks different to my '13. congrats, I also wanted the matt grey paint job that was available here in 2012, but by the time i got around to it they were all gone!

In case my KLR is reading this - I still love you, I'm not trading you in for a younger tart just yet...
