Front 16T is so cheap and easy to replace (great tip by Danny a few pages ago, didn't know about the axle tool) that you should try it. BTW, in the 990 makes a HUGE difference.

    "I've got a new Kato".

    "I'm having so much fun".

    "I've ordered the short".

    It's all about you lately.

Just wait until I fix the heated grips on the BuMW. It's so much easier to beg for a ride on the Kato when you have warm hands.

You didn't buy the one in Cairns?

Dealer told me yesterday there might be 15 more R's coming to Aus.
You 'could' put your name on one now...

I got told its actually 32 more Rs hitting our shores!!

Should have my genuine bash plate by end of next week, along with the heated grips. 7 week wait for tank bag??

Brisbane KTM at Springwood have an R on the floor, saw it this morning.

I was leaving for the Cape. I stopped long enough to drool on it, buy the replacement goggles for the ones I'd forgotten to pack, and then took off.

The bike store was closed by the time I got back a week later.

Would I buy one if I had some spare change?

Well.....derrr. For now I'll just have to hide the KTM envy by describing what a great time I had, and how I smashed the Old Telegraph Track (North and South sections) in an easy 3 1/2 hours, in pissing rain, riding through every water crossing without incident. How I blasted the deep sand like a pro. Then finish by confirming that I did not part company with my bike for the whole trip. Unlike someone I could name, if I was a prissy bitch.:lol3

The old DR ran like a cheap Japanese watch. No fuss, no fancy stuff, just kept ticking away.

I'm going 2 up on the BuMW next. Then maybe on a KTM. But I need to convince wifey. Plus sell some bikes.

Oh, I can convince her we need one....it's the paying for one that'll be the real work.

Yeah they are about 3 weeks away.. But most (if not all) already have deposits on them. If you speak to City KTM (vic) they will tell you there's none until january. Brisbane KTM have one on the floor but it has a deposit on it and has a waiting list of others in case that deposit drops out. Same as most other dealers..

I am one of the lucky ones that went on a waiting list and now have my deposit on one of the R;s coming in, in a couple of weeks :)

I've just received my B&B bash plate. Very sturdy, nice looking and 5.2mm thick. The first thing I did after unwrapping said bash plate was to weight the bugger. 4.3kg to be exact and the OEM plastic one weighs in around .3 so that means a weight gain of 4kgs.

Of course is your call but I would think it twice.
New 1190s don't have a great ground clearance so it's very likely you'll end up installing a bashplate anyway, of course nobody likes adding weight but do you think you'll feel 4 more kg, specially down there, and in the center of the bike?
IIRC the KTM bashplate has the same tubes for the mount and it's 6mm thick so expect the same weight. And if you finally get a thinner plate it will still have the mount tubes so you won't be saving that much, maybe 1 kg.

I wouldnt worry about the weight, it aint a race bike.. 1kg here n there is nothing.. if you were really worried you could stick to a body transformation of constant cardio for 2 hours a day.. loose 10kg or so as well.. or if your 1 or 2kg over, take a dump :rofl

I was told by a couple of dealers march 2014, so when i found one on the floor at Team Moto Moorooka, it was a no-brainer. Trade and be happy or sell and wait, and be sad. I hate sad!!

It would have been worth the wait but I lack patience at times!! ha ha

    Its awesome!!:clap:clap:clap

Pinch Pete640 and make him a good offer for some light and strong bashplate.

    He can pull it through
