Maybe. I see it was spied back in 2016 and reported even earlier than that. I don't see much on it since that, though. A quick Google machine search doesn't show any recent news on it.

Apparently, it will be made in India? Likely alongside the other 390 variants.

ETA: Launch announced today, unveiling at EICMA in November. Available 2019. Likely 2020 for North America.

You are correct. That's the picture they had on the news. Maybe this?

Think I read the 390 Duke costs $4999 so maybe this comes in around $5500ish?

Riding buddy picked up a Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 and I got a ride on it. Must say that little engine was impressive in a 331 (claimed) pound package.
If KTM can keep the weight close it would make for a fun mini adventure bike.

It’s a good time to be a motorcyclist despite what the doomsayers say

That it is. Though, doomsayers they may be, numbers aren't great for North America. While new models will help, the industry needs to get out of its own way. A discussion for another time and place.

This 390 sure is an interesting bike. I dig the idea of it.

Soooo looking forward to this bike ! Waiting for 5 years ! That's gonna be the new DRZ400 (more than the 450L)!
I'm riding a 2018 Duke390, which is a very good everyday bike. Engine is enough to ride on highways, so fitting this engine into dual sport frame and adventure protection...the way to go to travel the world !

Took them long enough... 790 and 390 adventure on the same time frame plus the yamyT7. looking forward for 2019 releases. Maybe Suzuki will come with a surprise :) >400
Honda450L would have made a great surprise but it seems to be in a league of is own (not a good one)

Close... but if you really want to know how awesome the KTM 390 Adventure is, just read the original Honda 250 Rally thread.

Was really excited about the bike until looking at the specs vs current bike (BMW X Challenge). About the same weight with 5-10 less HP. Oh well, a 6th gear and available parts might make the switch worthwhile.

The X bikes were/are in their own category.
I think it’s pretty amazing the 390/401 can come close to the X bikes ten or eleven years later for substantially less coin, both new off the showroom floor.
Personally I would keep the X bike but I’ve never owned one, although been on my short list for a while.

    True.

Probably will keep the X Challenge and see if I can swing another bike.
