TT used to do an exchange for a refurbished one, but I think that ended several years ago. Mine stopped recording new miles, but after replacing the primary battery it seems to be functioning find. I think your first step is to take it apart and see if you can find a mfg part# on the screen itself. Or take it to an electronics guru and see what they can work up.

There's a long history of problems with the stock tripmaster display, from y research it seems most people have just converted to a trail tech dash as it fits well in the tripmaster spot.

    Good luck!

I posted this in the lc4 index but I thought it might be better here.

I picked up this 98 620 Adv a few months ago and have been waiting for a good opportunity to put this center stand on and swap out the kick stand. In the process of mounting the center stand i noticed a few things, among others that the mounting holes are threaded on the frame. But more significantly, I discovered that I could use both my centerstand and side stand simultaneously. I'm pretty sure this is not supposed to be possible without an aftermarket bracket. This bike has been sitting in a barn for 12 years, pretty sure that wasn't an option. Plus, the side-stand kill switch was in positioned properly for the kick stand bracket. Here:

    Another further out:

The real problem I'm having is that I can't find where to put the boomerang thing for the springs. It seems my year didn't include a a mounting post for the center stand springs, but it can accommodate both side and center stands at the same time. I've checked for clearance in all positions (both up, down, etc) and everything functions quite well. I just can't find anything to mount the center stand springs to. Any ideas? I know there's supposed to be a peg with a groove in it, but it simply doesn't exist for the center stand. Instead there's a bolt holding the side stand switch in place.

I had considered a rubber strap akin to those used on the trail bikes, at least that would keep it in place when not in use and I wouldn't need to weld anything. Thoughts?

    EDIT:
It seems the '98 620 just didn't include the spring post. I found this old article from CW (on this thread) and it seems they had the same problems as me. Even had to enlarge the mounting holes in the 620's frame. I don't think i'll be welding on a spring-post, instead i'll just use either a rubber strap from the ktm dirt bike kick stands, or a nice-sized velcro one-strap. Since i can fit both the center stand and side stand simultaneously, I can rely on the side stand for daily use and leave the center stand available for maintenance when necessary. WOOHOO!

Alright, got a new question for all your 620 fiends. Anyone ever swapped out the plastic side covers for those on the new models? I ask because the airbox is a PITA to access with the current setup, especially with sidebags mounted up. The newer models had the speed-access which broke the LH side cover into two pieces, one that covered the airbox and the other which covered the exhaust. I still have the low-pipes on my '98 but would like to modify my side covers for easier access to the airbox for filter maintenance. ideas? :clap

I'm in the process of trying to clean up the top part of my fairing. This is the dark transparent top part of the fairing that on later bikes is paint matched... Ktm part #58211002000... In looking at it, I think I would prefer a solid color vs the transparent, and maybe a bit taller but not a must. Anyone know of aftermarket screens that would fit, without having to replace the whole setup...

    Thanks in advance.
