Hmm, not sure we are comparing apples and apples, or apples and oranges. I have ridden my buddy's 08 450 EXC, and then my 08 690 - and to me, they feel quite different, especially on single track. Comparing a 450 or 690 done up in rally trim - be it a 450 RR or 690 with EVO2 not sure how they would feel comparatively. Just my two pennies. Oh wait - we just discontinued those :D

That's actually incorrect. What is going on is that Rally Raid is a small Race Shop. When Rally’s come around they are gone and there is no one there building your order. They are the best group of guys out there and John makes a great product. I wish I could show everyone the fairing stay that is included in the new EVO2 Kit. It is a work of art. They are overwhelmed with the world wanting every bit they can produce. We try and order as much as we can but it seems no matter how many kits we put on order there simply isn't enough. You know that quote good things come to those who wait, this is a classic example of that quote. Their kit is worth every minute you wait, every hour you stair at your buddies bike or our site, we promise you it will all pay off. We bank on it. Sorry for the delay's guys. We really wish we could get those kits out to you quicker. There just isn't the instant gratification with their stuff like there is with others. Have a great rest of the week. KTMTwins.com

here is my bike with the EVO2 kit installed. KTM radiator guards had to go, radiator screen slightly trimmed, and also the black plate below the dashboard had to be trimmed at the edges a little bit.
Other than that, a great piece of kit!
Still waiting for John to show us some nice graphics, or I will have to go and have them designed locally! :)

I have used the lower triangular hole in the dashboard to install the 12V plug, and I will use the larger round hole above to install the RAM mount for the GPS.

Looking forward to have a ride this weekend, if weather will not be rubbish!!

First ride this morning, to check if everything is ok.
A little bit of rattle from the black plate under the dashboard. Problem solved with some foam, no rattle anymore!
It's impressive the protection from air you get from the fairing. On my way back home on a short motorway stretch I was at 140kph and no pressure on my chest or helmet. Great!

Molto bella, ma ora ci devi mettere il parafango basso stile Dakar.

    Allora sara' completa.

    Guido,
the case in the picture is the 31 lt one, it usually goes on the opposite side (where the exhaust is), and the 38 lt goes on the side that now holds the 31 lt.
But when using the bike in town, i usually use only one case - the smaller one - to keep the bike narrow (traffic in rome is bad and you need to filter a lot!)

Could someone who has installed the new Evo-2 tanks please post pics of where they have run the right hand side fuel line?

I have fitted the Evo-2 tanks, and am a bit concerned about how exposed the TwinAir foam filter is ...

You can clearly see it beneath the seat now ...

I am concerned about heavy rain, etc ...

    Any thoughts ... ?

    Hoots,
I have no other pics at the moment, but if you look at the one below you can see the fuel line: it goes from the main fuel tank, then outside the frame (inside is too close to the rear shock spring), and you should have there the fast fuel connector, i have used a zip tie to keep the fuel line close to the frame.
And then from there, just when it goes behind the right tank it splits, one line goes to the right tank and the other one crosses to the other side, passing through a hole in the back of the cylinder casing (this is adviced by the instructions), and to the left tank.

    Hope it helps
    Ciao
    Gianluca

I have upgraded my tanks & fairing kit to EVO2. I am still using the old EVO1 adventure headlight (from KTM 950) and the rally screen. I am having problem with the upgraded fairing falling an inch or may be less shorter and as such I am not able to align the fairing to bolt to the top and bottom end of the tank. Some pics below. Sorry for the quality but i will try to post better ones.
