Any 6' + guys out there with this kit?
I'm 6'2" and wondering if the fearings actualy create good wind protection without major wind noise, and (more importantly) wind buffetting, at highway speeds.

What is the difference from adventure fairing kit and rally fairing kit?

So to be running I need one of above mentioned kits and the EVO2 tank kit, so price range of 2200 GBP or approx. 3500 USD in total? And then add shipping on top.

Jeez, expensive to do the rally thing...

The Adventure & Rally Kit are very similar, apart from the fact the Adventure Kit does not have the extra stiffening plates,T Post,8-way fuse holder, toolbox, roadbook plate and tie-rods.
The extra cost is for those parts to make it race-ready for a rally, and they have been tested over the last 3 years in most international events by many riders, with very few problems,we get a lot of feedback from riders, and any recurring problems with the design are changed to improve the product.
As the saying goes.....racing improves the breed.
Yes,the rally kit is dearer than the Adventure Kit,but when you say expensive, what other rally kit are you comparing it to?

Because the 6mm stainless steel plate that holds the top clamp around the headstock moves the ignition lock back 6mm,so the steering lock pin cannot reach the hole in the steering stem.

This is valid only for the fairing correct?
If you install just the tanks with the little cover and no fairing then the steering lock still works, correct?

With the 2012 Scotts damper and mount, it won't work anyway.

    ktmmitch,

Do you have a wide pic of a '12 with just the tanks & fairing installed (in white or natural)? Also, can I get a copy of the installation instructions to peruse?

    Great work & thanks.

    Dear Mr RR

Will there be a January sale on Evo1 Kits?? :evil:evil:lol3

    Cheers

    Harty

PS Failing that, will you be selling off the 2nd hand Evo1 kits from the 690 owners upgrading to the Evo2 kit :wink:

I doubt, because we are running down the EVO1 kits.
Also, anyone that buys an EVO2 upgrade tank kit uses about 50% of the EVO1 kit,so there will not be many parts to re-sell,and definitely not enough to make a full kit.

Not to hijack, but I have a Scotts kit on my '12 690R and my steering lock works fine. Obviously we have different mounting kits.

From your website it appears the EVO2 tanks hold less fuel than the EVO1 tanks, is that correct?

Could you give a rundown of the advantages of EVO2 over EVO1?

    Thanks.

Mate, have you got any photo's of the EVO 2 fairing fitted to the EVO 1 tanks? I need to decide wether i upgrade my tanks or just buy the new fairing.

ok, but you can fit the EVO 2 light to the EVO 1 fairing? So for us who have the EVO 1 tanks and want to have the EVO 2 light we have to buy the EVO 1 fairing and the EVO 2 light. Will RR sell the EVO 1 fairing minus the light assembly so we can fit the EVO 2 light?:evil
