Thanks, Lukas. I thought I was having a bit of a brain fart thinking it should be easy just to pull them off, but indeed it's either cut or disassemble the front.

Thanks. Love this forum. Even the 'duh, that's so obvious' questions get answered quickly.

Lost dog products centerstand installed. Great craftmanship/design. Highly recommend it. If you want to order one go to his website and do it! Great guy with a great product.

It's the One Second Chain Oiler. I decided to go for this one as it's manually operated and a complete stand alone unit. If it fails, it's not connected to any vacuum hoses or electronics, so no harm done. Except for the chain. :)

    Here's a link to the manufacturer: http://www.osco-chainoiler.com/en/

:pyndNew 690 Enduro is great. Stock Ralley Cross tires not good commuting in rainy N.Florida. Any suggestions??? I am willing to swap out on the weekends to ride on the dirt. How hard would it be to change tires about every other week?:ricky

Stage 1 is complete for my 2013 690. Most of the things done are also done to my 990 so the transition, comfort and feel will be sort of the same between the two.

Black Dog Cycle Works pegs. (Ya need to do some modifying for them to work but well worth it.)

Like I said, well worth it! :freaky

Vibes? Can you quantify the difference? Right now my stock setup is good for about an hour before my hands start going numb. Which, btw, is roughly how long my ass can stand the seat, but that's a different question.

There must a range of vibration in bikes coming out of the factory ...

I've never noticed any vibration at all - 2012 model - about 10,000km so far ...

With you on the seat though - Seat Concepts foam and cover work well for me ...

I found your 690 review where you list the skid plate as Rally Raid--any comment on how different your's looks from theie internet picture... (different serial #? old picture from previous supplier?) Also, did you eliminate the FLatland skid plate for any reason from your skid plate choice?

Just for the record, I'm somewhat dissatisfied with my Touractech set-up as I usually have to do bending or repair after relatively modest falls...

    thanx in advance--stan

EDIT UPDATE: I ORDERED AND RECEIVED THE ADVENTURE SKID PLATE AND IT'S A REFINED PIECE OF WORK. HOWEVER, ONCE I STARTED PULLING MY TOURATECH OFF, I CAME TO APPRECIATE HOW IT WAS MOUNTED AND THAT INDEED, ITS BENDING PROPENSITY REALLY WAS USEFUL TOWARDS ABSORBING ENERGY. I DECIDED TO STAY WITH THE TOURATECH (MORE GRATEFULLY APPRECIATED) AND WHEN THE RIVETS BREAK, AND CRASH BAR WELDS CRACK, I WILL USE THE NEW SKID PLATE AND DRILL IT OUT TO USE THE TOURATECH MOUNTING SYSTEM...

Now that I've picked up another '08 enduro, I thought I'd "smoke" it....used the SMC wheels with a separate Brembo brake system to get this result....

If anyone has a skidplate they'd like to donate to the cause, PM me, the stocker is pretty worthless...:evil
