I crashed pretty hard outside of Green River, Ut and only cracked a small area at the top of the windscreen slot. My 690 has been used more off pavement than on and that was the only time I've had any issues.

Ian, at Britannia Composites repaired the Lynx for the cost of shipping. He has provided excellent customer service from day 1. I liked the Lynx so much I got one for my wife's 690.

Hows the wind protection on that Lynx?

Is the screen fairly sturdy lifted all the way up at interstate speeds?

    Thanks for the input.

I've seldom ridden with the screen all the way up. It seems to give me the best wind protection about 2" from the top. I'm 6' tall and wear an ARAI XD4 with the beak on. With SuMo wheels I've ridden close to triple digits for short distances and the Lynx works well. It doesn't keep all the wind off but definitely makes a difference.

    Nice!

    Quick questions:

    • Which motard wheelsets did you go with?
    • Any upgrades to the front brake?
    • R&G axle sliders?

I have yet to see a Basel kit on any bike other than the promotional photos. I wish they would take more/better photos of the kit in detail to show us why it costs as much as it does.

I live in Basel and have seen the kit a few times ( hi Joeren! )

Its ktm OEM rally tanks plus some other bits, custom exhaust manifold and quite a few custom made brackets etc, plus its switzerland and shits expensive here.

A little ride report from the weekend riding north of Death Valley.

I spent the weekend up in Gold Point with some good friends doing some fun riding. Much of what we did may be used by others for our October Gold Point Weekend in 2 weeks.

    Saturday riding- Not many pics
Here's my Ginger at a rest stop with friends on Oriental wash.

Ginger got kinda dusty out on those trails.

Sunday- My son TJ & I decide to do the Bishop run.

A gratuitous glamour shot with a cabin along the way.

It seems other M2W vermin have been here before us.

I'm sure glad this was left behind. Came in kinda handy. :rofl

Here we are at the turn off from the pavement. There's electrified fence along the highway. I tried to get TJ to test it out. He decided not to.

Oh yeah. We'll be the judge of that. :evil

There was nothing to stop a bike along the route. :D

About 11,000 ft on the way to Barcroft Lab.

    What a view :clap

    What planet are we on?

We made it as far as we can go. 12,000 ft elevation at this point.

Rider1 met us for lunch at the Amigo Mexican restaurant. He pulled up just as we did. Great timing!

Dave being the great man he is bought our lunch! Thank you very much!!! :clap

From Bishop it is about 55 FAST miles to this sign.

Not gonna stop us. Already passed several others along the way. :lol3

About 50 ft before this point is a "washout" sign. Believe it! :eek1

This is how I finished off the day. :1drink

Really liking the white/black scheme - I assume that is the Britannia Lynx fairing? Any other pics of the bike you could share?
