"When you pull the rear of the bike the gas tank move about 1/4 of an inch. I spoke with Todd Jones and he knows of the problem and is sending parts to the dealer to effect a repair. This is bullshit, if they know about the problem they should just recall it and be done with it.

I will let you know about the repair after I get the parts. I purchased this bike to scout new trails so I am planning on riding it hard off-road. It's not an option for the gas tank to be loose, I don't want to have to go back and look for it on the trail..."

Trailtrick - Keep us informed on the outcome, mine seems to have the same problem I thought it was just play in the rubber bushings in the mount, but if KTM is replacing parts down there I need to get to the dealer and have it fixxed

After speaking to Javier I went out and checked the tank and sure enough their was about 1/4" of play. I actually had the side panel off when I checked it which makes it move more freely.

Thanks Javier for doing the leg work on this and getting some contact info from KTM.

+1 on that James and Javier. After taking the seat off I can see (and feel) it move before the rear suspension begins to move when I lift on the handles.

I pulled the sides off today and found the same wiggle. A trip to the hardware store should solve the problem.

I'm still a bit unclear about this "wiggle". Or maybe it's just that mine doesn't wiggle and I'm just getting the internet paranoia. hehe

Do you have to pull the side panels off?

If I pull on the handles on the back it seems very solid.
If I push on the sides of the tank it seems very solid.

Should I do more, or just roll with it being solid? :1drink
