what's the scoop on the KTM 790? I have a 690 and ready to pony up. 690 is a Great bike, but just needs a little more umph on the transition sections. The 1090 and 1290 are nice, but not ideal for off road for me. I might as well go full street if I get one of those.

Should hit showrooms in January and will have a parallel twin and be sub 400 lbs dry.

And will shoot rainbows from its tailpipe.

Regardless of how badass it is, people will bitch.

I talked with a 690 guy recently who wished it was *just* 50# lighter. Meanwhile he probably hadn't seen his penis without the aid of a mirror in a decade.

My thoughts and I really hope I'm wrong, I think we might only see a concept of the 790 Adv at EICMA in a few weeks. There will for sure be the production version of the 790 Duke which was unveiled last year as the Scalpe concept.

Seems to be the the way KTM do things when unveiling new bikes. They did the same with the Superduke.

But on the other hand, when the Superduke GT and 1190 Adv came out, they went straight to production, although Europe got first dibs.

So if they do show a production version of the 790Adv, it's more than likely be 2019 before it show up in North America.

Either way, I really excited to see the concept or production bike. This is what the 990 should of been replaced with, not the 1090/1190/1290

Would love to see KTM make it more like the enduro/SE than an adv. Can't wait to see what they do with it. They shouldn't let Yamaha beat them to production though. A lot of interest will disappear if the T7 is the unicorn people have been waiting for!

I'm very interested in the T7, if Yamaha brings it over here. History shows them to go slowly in that regard though.
