Erg Chebbi sanddunes - Maroc
Nice pics, Mark
I love this picture. Hope you didn't have to go back up that rock face.
changed my 07'orange Adventure N to an Camel S
set higher to 265mm, new paintjob (camel trophy), new exc handlebar, new mirrors, self made windshield, new seat cover (water buffalo leather)
my second wheelset is currently not useable
i can't wait to go offroad with 265 and see my camel with new Heidis K74
+1. Stolen for my screensaver, as inspiration.
Where (specifically) is this?
"Pampa del Leoncito, Mendoza, Argentina"
Remember Marlboro spot of a sailing car years ago, well this was the place where they shot the video.
Golar Steps. Southwest of Death Valley towards Ballarat.
Yes it's a canyon and only way through.
But it's a side picture. I find it easier to go up on the left side (and down in the middle). Bigger steps but with momentum it's doable.
You are right about that. I chose the wrong line and got stuck there, had to walk it down.
Loose rocks on the other side, where water runs is the way to go. Middle is though because of that big drop, about 2 feet.
Have any more photos of it? Its hard to see the actual color with all the reflections in that image
Here she is fellas. Bike is done except headlight guard. Very happy with how it turned out.

A KTM in its natural environment and taking a break along the Susquehanna.
I boogered around a local canyon for a bit today.. forgot how much fun this thing is. I drew a stripe at the exit of every corner
...local ORV area has been shut down
...spent quite a bit of time pulling over and changing the geometry of the bike trying to get the handling where I want it
Carbon fiber is hard to photograph well
Nice Geek! You like the new legs? Taller is better!
Using all 10" of suspension on Black Gap Road:
Waiting for everyone to catch up (all those cute little dirt bikes! ) on River Road (the dirt one). Absolutely FLYING!
Have you put taller springs on the front and back Viola~tor or just the front?? Any details on the set up please?
Mine have been extended front and rear.. 55mm more in the forks and here's the difference in spring length (amplify whatever this is by the length of the swingarm axle arc):
The bike sits significantly higher. I'm 6' and I'm tippy toes (or if one foot is on the ground, the other is 8 inches in the air)
Hope this helps
Diek: Nice pics! I've run the (paved) River Road on an MV Agusta F4S and a GSXR1000.. but have never been to Big Bend offroad.
I need to!
Next time you are going let me know and I'll meet you down there.. I'm not that much further from there than you are
Sweet! Ya man, let's do it. I had a blast. This was my 4th time to BB but my first on the dirt backcountry. It's made for the 950s.
Had to do the paved River Road too:
Both ends at 10", new springs and custom valving. I told Javier to max out the length and "make it perform well everywhere, on and off road." He did!
