I think it was because the original wheel builder did'nt angle the spoke holes properly, stressing the spokes at the nipples.

If you look closely you should be able to see it here.

When I rebuilt the wheel I re-drilled the spoke holes to get rid of the stress on the spokes like this.

The rebuilt wheel came out like this, and has been fine ever since.

    Hi All

I had an itch to scratch and wanted to own a 990 before it was too late to get one without too much milage.
Picked up this baby a few days ago. Cool extras include wider footpegs, Akro's,Scotts Damper, and coolest of all extra range tanks.

    Whitedelight,
Great blue/black combination, first one I see; also made the cockpit extra tanks look like a perfect match :clap

X2, details on the tanks. I miss the unlimited range of the KLR but refuse to lose the power and awesomeness of the 950

The things I've done on the KTM since I purchased it a month ago.

    SMT handguards and Renthal highbend.
Replaced the stock filter to K&N...though it was for the 990,but it fits with a little push.

    I LOVE Utah!!

They are so nice here- nice man stopped me today to give me a SPECIAL DRIVING AWARD!! He's a representative of the State, and told me he used his RADAR GUN and discovered I was such a great motorcycle rider because I can ride over EIGHTY miles an hour when ordinary people can only drive SIXTY! Do you believe it? WOW!

He wore a special uniform, and turned on his special award lights and everything, all in my honor!

He even gave me a SPECIAL CERTIFICATE that awards me one HUNDRED AND SIXTEEN BIG ONES.

I can hardly wait for my check to arrive!!!
