    Hello all,

I had a 990 Adventure until I had a crash and the bike was a write off. Anyway I took some of the trinkets that I had installed on the bike. One of them was the Scottoiler.

When I installed the scottoiler on the 990 I fitted the brass spigot on the right hand side of the engine and everything worked nicely. Since the accident I decided to buy a 950 Adventure but when I came to fit the scottoiler I found on the right hand side of the engine some piping already connected there, which confused me as this was not the case on the 990. I looked on the left hand side of the engine and there seems to be a nut without any piping connected to it, I was wondering if I can use this to connect to the scottoiler?

Any help would be appreciated, for those with 950A's and scottoilers where did you connect the vaccum tubing and valve on the engine?

    Thanks

I believe what you are looking at is the vacuum tube that is used to balance the carbs (I think). There is one at the base of each carb body.

hard to tell in the pics.

One side is used to balance the carbs, the other side is where the charcoal canister used to connect to the engine before the canisterectomy was done. I don't know enough about those to tell how they work, but if it runs off of a vacuum then you pull one of the bolts out, thread the stock brass spigot looking piece back in, and connect it to the Scottoiler.

950 and 990 kits are the same, the difference is which vacuum connection you use, on the 990 it is the lhs of the throttle boddies and on the 950 it is on the rhs of the carbs. The easiest to get to carb balancing spigot is the one to go for!

I put it on the left hand side of my 950 like in the picture above.

I emailed Scottoiler for support too, till today no reply. Impressive..

Seems to be working fine.. also had a problem with the positioning of the container as my shock is somehow longer than everyone else's. So it's now installed there but installed a little to the side, not 100% happy about it.. Shall I post a pic or is anyone familiar with this?

    Cheers guys :freaky
