I'm just curious how many others there are out there? Specifically in Colorado as I've seen a lot of photos of them in CO on ADV. Saw some sweet shots tonight in the photo thread from a lad who rode up Mosquito Pass today on one. I bought mine new in '07. Rode it almost 600 miles before a mouse decided to feast upon my wiring harness the first week I owned it (@#$@*&^@&^@). I then stored it until yesterday when I started replacing the harness and a bunch of other schtuff. :ear

    I'm in.
Wait, you rode 600 miles back around '07 and it's been sitting unused since. How many miles total on the bike? Or did you buy it new?

Exactly! Essentially I have a brand new 950 se :evil I did buy it new back in '07 and parked it (properly stored) 567 miles later until yesterday. I still have some wiring harness to work on but hope to have it rolling by end of next weekend if all goes well. I'm capable, but no mechanic so it might need a trip to the shop for tuning after the SAS/ectomy.

    That's flipping great!
I hope you get it running soon so you can introduce it to the mountains before old man winter forces us west and south for another long season.

Very cool! Glad to see all the SEs in the state. I believe I read somewhere that the KTM annual gathering is in Colorado next year in the September time frame. It would be awesome to see a fleet of SEs there. Maybe KTM would get the picture that people love the platform...probably wishful thinking.

Sounds like we need a four corners SE rally! I know there's a bunch in Phoenix and at least a couple in NM too.

That would be stellar! I'll ponder it a bit more this winter and see what I can do...unless there is someone more familiar with the other states areas that would like to volunteer? :ear

Wow! The weather looked great for a ride. I'm stuck in San Jose for work this week and my SE is still in pieces at home...it is getting closer though. Please hold out weather...hang in there Indian summer!

I'm curious as to what most of you SE riders are doing for insurance on your bike? Liability only or full coverage? For me it is a difference of $17/mo ($2.66/mo liability only; $19.64/mo full). Not much in the grand scheme of things but these bikes aren't exactly a dime a dozen either. I only run liability on the EXC. What are your thoughts and thanks for sharing? :ear

I have full coverage. I don't care about the value of the bike, but the uninsured motorist coverage is what really matters. I have 500k of UM. If some nipple head takes me out, I want to at least have some money coming in to cover my losses.

Ultimately, UM/UIM is the one coverage you need NOT skimp on- it's the only one that insures YOU for losses caused by some cell-phone texting soccer mom trying to kill ya.:deal

OK, so I went with liability plus UIM coverage from our larger policy...that's just good advice there as every motorcyclist should/probably already knows.

That said, I put my new bash plate (from LAKEMONSTER), adventure pegs, and Scott's plus triple clamp on the SE! Still waiting on my larger tank and gel seat from PowerCell but in the mean time I'll install the CPR Bulldog air filter and remove the stock air box I modified last month...oh Indian summer hang in there! I'm installing the new wiring harness as I work through the chassis. There won't be anything to surprise me next year out in the middle of nowhere after this...famous last words...(I'm knocking already!) :D

Been working on the SE a lot over the past few weeks. Repairing the wiring harness but also adding bit of this and that and removing others. I'm hopeful I can have it "finished" up tomorrow night. Just have to put the carbs back on and add the CPR filter (air box removed). Hopefully it'll fire right up. Wish me luck!

There are a fair number in Colorado that I'm aware of. In addition to my two I ride with six between Denver and Colo. Spgs. Most fun you can have on a big dualie. 0 to traffic court on the street in 4 seconds on the street.
