Pyndons made a pre filter that looked great so I looked in my shop and found parts off a Harley. I made this set up two years ago and it works great .

    My filter :lol3

Looks very good, and probably better then a UNI. I would never have thought there was that much room under there.Nice work :thumb

I like my pre filter very easy to clean and easy to remove just 4 screws. This setup is very cheep to do. In in dirty contions I just pack a extra pre filter with me.

My ktm 990 adv runs great. My stock air filter , Harley pre filter 2 into 1 with FMF Q4 pipe . I run 150/152.5 main jets with IMS 2 1/4 out floats at 3mm stock needle at 3 positon everything else in carb is stock. elevation is 300

    Back to the Dyno tomorrow.

KTMADV I'm confused (doesn't take much). Is it a 990A with carbies (seeing that you have main jets:eek1) or a 950A:ear

My bike is a 2007 ktm 990 adventure that I have put carbs on it.

The pre filter mode is easy to do thats what I meant

Just got back from the Dyno in Willows Ca at Thunder Hill race park.

Here are the numbers with my pre filter. Air / Fuel was near perfect.

Here is the part number for this filter that I use A055E4. You can get the bottom plate and filter from any Harley Davidson shop. You will have to make your own metal plate that goes into your snorkel .
I just did 500 miles in Nevada and my filter worked great. At night I would wash my filter and put in my spare filter so I always had a extra filter in my backpack.

As a prefilter, cool idea to recycle an unused part, but to by it new, that tapered K&N filter is $60+ parts. It probably has enough filtering area to be your primary filter....., but seems like overkill as a pre-filter. IMO $20 for the UNI Pre-filter seems "more-better"...-cheaper, smaller, easier to clean.
