They're two different seats; the ergo (with the KTM logo embossed in one side), and the stock one. Both are two level seats -smr stock is one level. But all 990 smr/smt seats, plus the ergo, can be mounted in any of both bikes.

I believe the ERGO seat may have a gel pad in it, but don't quote me on that.

I have an SMT that I have had the stock seat reworked by Sargent. It does well enough, but I'm thinking of buying another stock seat (or SMR seat) and having Renazco give it a go.

Question for you SMR guys. Do you know if the plastic seat pan on the SMR is the same shape as the SMT? I know the foam is different (split level vs single level). If so, then I'll just buy the cheaper SMT stock seat and have Renazco build it like a dual sport seat.

I am back...you convinced me ... Not selling the KTM...it is just toooo cool of a bike ... The touring bike is going to have to wait until next year when I won't have to sacrifice the KTM to get it....:clap. Now where is that lotto ticket..:D

Awesome George, I would sell all my other bikes, and give up my left jewel, to keep the SMR. You've got better places to ride it than I do here in FL. Plan a trip to NC, I'll be there for 2 weeks in August.

although the seats are interchangeable the seat pans are different. I had an SMR seat done by Seat Concepts for my SMT, and they claim they are different.

Hi all...wondering how others have mounted L.E.D.s on their SMR.?

Any ideas or pictures you can post? The lights I'm looking at are from Adventure monster...they are a vendor here (adv rider) and seem to have decent prices and pretty good customer service. I have their model 60s on a GS...of course there's no problem finding a place on that beast...I want to keep the clean looks of the SMR and was wondering if there's something I don't know about available?

Also at some point we need to have a weekend for all the SMR inmates to hook up. Seems there's getting to be a few of us within a couple hundred mile radius..I reckon that's for another thread..

Great, the purpose of my posts is to help others, if I had known about this thread last year I would have post here as well.

I still have a few more mods on the way & will post the results of them soon, I am busy working with my Dual velocity stacks today with custom maps with the inner stacks at different heights I have 3 different heights to test, so when I head for the dyno I will have a custom map for each height so it is a fare shoot out.

Yes sir! Thanks for looking out for me! I've been out putting miles on. Love the bike.

Next weekend is set aside for maintenance and a few performance mods (MH air box, etc). I'm a little torn on whether I have to load the akra map. Any advice? Bike will have akra cans and MH intake (no internal work).

I switched to an Akra map as soon as I switched to Akra cans.
It runs great. But I can't tell you how the Akra cans will work WITHOUT an Akra map.

    Has anyone tried that???
