They Rock... Good Gig... And a local band from Nelson
Hi Meat... I posted a thread within the Equipment section regarding LED Brake Light vs. OEM on my '03 KTM 640 ADV.
roger that SR - make sure you test that thing fully! Head out to the dirt and rough her up
Do you want to widen this to external links?? Here's one from HUBB with owner's long term problems on the 640 ...
HUBB: KTM 640 Adv problems list
I had an external links section in there so I added this great one: thanks overlandr!
someone wanted this thing alphabetized... let me introduce you to the key combination "Ctrl-F"
this will allow you to search a page.
if you still don't find it but know its there then recommend a new word for me to add.
Meat, I think you should add a link to some hard side case threads. I'm trying to research that, and noticed you don't have any threads under that category listed.
Here are some promising looking threads that came up under a search for "case" and "cases."
I will add those shortly along with this thread containing BST float bowl screw measurements (that are not listed in the documentation) - thanks creeper!
All good stuff, when you're putting in those links to side case threads, ya might want to make a 'luggage' section & put in the thread on my soft luggage racks too. As the rear ends of A's & E's are the same it probably doesn't belong in the E section.
Roger that. Y'all take a look at the new Luggage section and lemme know if there is some other changes, additions, that would be helpful.
Looks pretty good Tube Steak. A valuable resource for anyone... n00b or experienced LC4'meister.
Nice job Meat! Now your job is done.
y'all don't need sugar in yer coffee eh?
Done? Almost... if only I could find that link someone posted that offered free LC4s. After that one went up, everyone forgot all about that post that said where to get free accessories for LC4s. Can't find either of them anymore.
You've built a really great compendium of LC4 knowledge here. Many thanks for the time you've invested - it is a fantastic asset to this forum.
what's that word those weird austrians are always using? verlkempt?
thanks for the kind words!
Requesting assistance <!--emo&:help:--><!--endemo-->
After reading through all the pages, I realized that I'm not mechanically inclined to perform this task. I have an '01 LC4 SM with ~3,700 miles, and love it to death. I recently called my local KTM dealership and they said that they were going to have to split the case (no other way around it), and it was going to cost me approx. $900 big ones to have the job completed. I currently have the part on order.
I guess what I'm asking for is, if one of the many friendly helpful members on this site would be willing to help me do the main bearing replacement, I would be willing to compensate the individual for their valuable time, provide the tasty beverage of choice throughout the task, and would come and meet the person at their home or another location. I live in Pensacola, FL and would be willing to make the drive (whatever it takes, within reason ~8-9 hours) to keep my beloved LC4 SM. The last thing that I want to do is sell my bike because I can't afford the labor costs. I'm not even riding her right now, because I'm too afraid that the bearing is going to go. <!--emo&:--><!--endemo-->
If anyone is willing to help me out, it would really mean a lot. And then I wouldn't have to listen to my wife talk to me about how motorcycles and everything associated with it are costing us so much $. Thanks. Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or PM me.

Is the SE chapter of La Familia all over this?
EDIT: ah, I see he spamed this over to the bearing upgrade thread. good.
Tools, toolkits, and other stuff added to the index, but it is definately incomplete!!! Please give me your links to tools and toolkits and lists of crap to take along, either threads or external.
