So I've been reading this as fact (on the 'net before finding the source), but I was wondering if anyone on here had any non-biased actual sales figures? Something other than a quote from a Motocross rag.

Seems more like a goal and a lofty one at that, than actual fact. But now that we're more than halfway through '13 I'm sure the data exists by now.

Anecdotally you could say "yeah KTM sells more bikes than anyone else; I see nothing but Orange at the local XC races"; but that's a relatively small sample size when compared to the full spectrum of off-road riding (play bikes, trail, mx, SM, desert, etc.).

If KTM really is in fact selling more 2stroke bikes than all the off-road bikes from Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki and Kawasaki combined; you would think that Economics 101 would come into play and Yamaha might actually update the YZ250 and the others would re-enter the full size 2stroke bike market, right?

If you look at the sales offerings from the Japanese Mfg. sales of full size off-road (NOT D.S.) bikes must've been slow as the KLX & KDX line is gone, and the RMX and DRZs are gone from Suzuki as well.

From the horses mouth so to speak for the 1st Qtr of 2013.

    Sales: 26,029 vehicles / +34.1%
    Revenue: 163.5 mio. EUR / +20.5%
    Overproportional growth in Asia (+424%)
Increase of market shares in Europe (+9.4%) and US (+23.3%)

    Outlook
Due to the economic situation the declining development especially on the European, but also on the US market is expected to continue.
By launching new models KTM consequently follows a global product strategy and expansion into Asian markets. Under these circumstances KTM expects further increases in sales and revenue for the business year 2013.

    2012- 107,142 Vehicles/ +32%

Nice Data; anyway to find where it's broken down more? That's their worldwide sales figures for all bikes. What about 2T sold in USA per the claim made in MXA?

I have only been able to find this so far (and it's just for Q1 of '12 vs '13):

So is KTM really selling > 8,700 2 stroke off-road bikes in the USA per 1/4? With 27K sold world wide it seems like their claim may have been a little optimistic.

They would likely sell more if they listed MSRP on their website and provided pricing for accessories.

At least in the Toronto area, dealers are few and far between.

I would be surprised if KTM corporate released sales figures to the public by model. Usually they attribute in gaining market share by percentage.
