Its taken a while, but we've got to the final prototype stage of our 690 bashplate, the first in a long line of parts we have in development for this bike. This guard will come complete with stick on protectors for the vulnerable clutch and stator covers(photos soon)
The production versions will be annodized black.

Should be ready to ship in a month.

G-iT: Guard-it-Technology, this corner was the last piece of the jigsaw and is a 'bandsaw special'. Production version will be tidy and the lower triangle will be part of the same ali plate folded

Got a quick photo of the guard finished in black annodized.
A guy was desperate for it as he is off to Africa, so im hoping to receive some shots of it fitted to his bike.
We should have finished produxtion guards in about 2 weeks at which point i'll get the pro-photos done.

    until then.........

    Well,

Don't wanna be too critic about your work, but realy realy seem geared to avoid protecting the notoriously weak brake pedal ...:huh

And one of the case reinforcements we've nearly finished. We're not sure whether we should annodize these or leave them silver.... any thoughts?

the factory finish particularly on the clutch side is worn off easily by boots... how does anodizing compare?

probably leave em bare... cheaper too. speaking of cheaper... did i miss pricing? doh... found it... seems reasonable.

    Very simple ...

The brake pedal remain unprotected. The bash plate will not prevent any rock (or whatever) to hit and twist it.

I'm in for both cover protections. (Clutch AND Magneto) Whenever it's ready e-mail me. I would prefer black anodized. How do you intend to fix it ? 3M two sided glued tape ???

covers will stick on with provided HT silicone. Annodizing will not affect price much as we get everything done, so get a good price. Not sure on prices for covers yet. The tooling to get exactly the right curve was pretty expensive and theres a surprising amount of work in them, so they wont be super cheap.

    but they are super nice!

Protecting the brake pedal with a big sticking out bit was too much of a compromise.
I think the brake pedal is a whole seperate issue that needs its own solution.
A brake snake to the guard should be a good compromise until a better pedal becomes available.

I also like the NATURAL ALUMINUM color much better.

I think a small toolbox in front as an option would be great, not a big one but enough to fit the original toolkit and some small extras.

I do like the look of the black annodized when new, but pretty sure after lots of silver colored nicks and scratches and dings from everyday wear and tear that I'd wish it was just natural colored. So because of that, I'd prefer a choice.

However, it looks hellforstout, and will still get one either way I'm sure.
