KYMCO Agility 125 needs work: Looking for advice

    I have a 2008 Agility 125 that needs some TLC.

    1. Blowing smoke at startup. I'm thinking this is the valve seals.
    Should be straight forward to yank the head and replace those, yes?
    Should I pull the cylinder and check the rings while I'm at it?

    2. The centrifugal clutch is grabby. Seems to lurch when it kicks in rather
    than smoothly picking up. I pulled it a while back and sanded down
    the surfaces... Helped for while, but now is back to spiteful behavior.

    What should I put in when I replace the clutch?
    Is there a superior after-market solution?

    Any input on where to buy parts? Preferred internet site perhaps?

    Had this issue, some other guys at kymcoforum too, easy fix.

    Get on the bike, both brakes on, full throttle, let the brakes out slowly, let
    the bike roll up to about 2-3 mph. Do it 2-3 times. By the time you smell the
    clutch burning, it's fixed. Permanently.

    Other guys had luck with this method too.

    I've had the clutch cleaned, sanded, everything you said. Was great for a
    short while, came back though. The bike would actually wheelie if you
    give it WOT! :huh

    Anyways, try it.
    Can't help with the smoke though.

    are you the original owner, OP? sounds like you have a good handle on what's going on. that possible engine trouble would leave me intimidated. shop time....

    guys i have an Agility 125, too. 3,000m and not one single issue or problem. but is my scoot going to start having some of these troubles, too? any known issues or problems with our Agility 125's?

    Cortez's method for the clutch sounds good. I'd give it a try.

    Is this the only engine trouble your having? What color is the smoke?

    Could be burning oil or something, possibly piston rings. I think your on the right track though, have a look at the valve seals as well as the piston rings and work from there.

    It should be pretty straightforward to get the top end off if you have basic mechanical skills and tools. Use a service manuel if you can though if you haven't done it before.

    The GY6 engine in it is bulletproof and is widespread across many other models
    and other manufacturers in 50, 125 and 150cc versions.

    I've got 15.000km on mine, my starter motor died at around 14.000, but that's
    to be expected considering I sometimes start it over 30 times a day (courier
    work) and my speedometer cable just snapped, again mostly my work's fault
    (snow, rain, salt..)..

    I bought it used, has about 10k km on it. I bought it knowing it had an issue with the motor, and I've done motor work before. I view it more as an opportunity than a threat.

    I'll try the burn the clutch thing. Can't see how it would hurt.

    I'm pretty impressed with the bike. Well made, rides nice.
