happy father's day to all you pocking pops....:beer

forget that route, tough already on a 640/650.

hope you find more suitable rides for big bikes. most riders here downsized, but we still do big bike rides.

sean, don't know yet what to do with this bike, it surely more than a handful. i was leery riding it that i may break down 30 miles from the truck. it performed well except the battery died after i forgot to turn the fan off.

nice and well made helmet, i saw a lot of that in prescott..:eek1

dennis, we didn't have time to explore. the ride we did was longer than what i was planning due to the difficulty level.

thanks and hopefully there will be a next time.

My GPS showed 23.6 miles from where we parked off Dove Springs to McIver Cabin, so I figure that's 47.2 miles round trip.

I have tracks if anyone wants them:

    1) Mojave McDonalds to parking area @Dove Springs (31.9 miles)
    2) Pkg area to McIver Cabin (23.6 miles)

    "Big bike-friendly," of course. ;)

we wanted to explore dove springs, but just didn't have enough time. we played for a short while going up and down the hills, and the sandwash. i'm thinking of coming back and do a weekend event... bring the quads.

the hill climbs were not terribly steep but the loose dirt put a twist, and the rocks/boulders littered everywhere took away the best line

    OK. Here we go...
It was an other great day ride for us LA area n00bs. We had good time, put some extra mileage on the bikes (I had 405 miles from door to door), ride on almost all kinds of terrain, sand, whoops, sandy whoops, rocks, more rocks, ruts, etc. beautiful scenery, and ofcourse met some new inmates. It is always nice to meet new riders. :clap

Small bikes look funny on the trucks... :lol3

But they sure are comfy going back home after hours and hours of hot, sweaty desert miles... If you know what I mean... :evil

A couple pics from the ride up to the cabin.

It was a fun ride - Eric, Ersin, and Jason are all badasses on those big bikes. Hopefully we can get out to the area again once it cools off a little. :knary

thanks ersin and jon for contributing nice pics. it was a memorable ride, first time for many of us to the cabin, and the ride up and down was a learning one for most of us.

    nOObs can have fun too...:rofl

will post the rest of the pics tomorrow and the vids later.

hope you guys enjoy the RR.
