is it between silverton and ouray? or further north @ buenavista.
the landscapes at the passes all look similar.
really nice up there, may go to west fest next year @ buena vista.
the desert is open....wide open
ride report here
finally....the cooler weather is almost here and the desert riding will be prime again.
^^light weight^^ .......
Compared to a truck, I guess.
Looks like a nice commuter bike.
Well it is lighter than my R1150GS. I actually like those 990's but way to tall and top heavy for a short legged guy like me.
I'm 5'8" and I love my 950.
I might even learn to ride it someday.
You learned to fall before learning how to ride. The rest will be easy!
Speaking of big bikes ....
Let's ride this
That should be fun. I'll be in DV, so I'm guessing I'm. Never say never...
Does look fun.
Took some guys up into the Los Padres....
BMWs shouldn't try to run at KTM pace........
Looks like his front tire was as smooth as your head.
There you go breaking people again
I hope he ended up ok.
Damn J been a while since we rode together...that isn't my head....
The GS had "knobbies"....This pic is better....I am moving the GS in question...rider is down still...but cameras are out it force already....typical....
Why do GS riders find it necessary to ride offroad with hard panniers? Guessing this was a day ride?
As most of you know, I do some really stupid stuff on my GSA but every time someone shows up for a day ride with hard cans on the side of their GS I tell them to take 'em off.
Whether or not the cans had anything to do with this incident, friends don't let friends ride with luggage unless you're taking a long road trip. Off my soap box now.
No soap box....hard cold truth...
The bike with the panniers is a rental...the rider has the new wet head GS but it is in the shop....dealer told him the hard bags have to stay on to protect the bike...:huh...
The rider went down when he hit a cross rut too fast...bike bottomed out...may or may not have happened without the weight of crazy luggage..
The trip was a simple 2 day ride...other GS riders rode with a soft tail bag and a backpack....
Quite an elaborate scheme just to get on a GS again Mike.
