:deal Just exactly what I have in mind! Where's 3 points? Near the AC I would think.

From what I heard, heavy rain in the Pasadena area, and even hail in Irwindale. I hope Angeles Forest got its fair share of rain.

After a downpour, riding becomes mandatory for me!

rained pretty good all over our route yesterday (per the radar) and is raining there right this minute....dust free...and that sandy area on the East side of SCD will be like velcro....the watercrossing at the bottom of the trail up to Mt Gleason should be nice and full too.....:D

So sorry you have to bail out. The weather was a little threatening on the way up, but I was lucky enough I didn't run into any rain. I don't remember doing the SCD in this kind of weather, this is my first experience.

4 of us made it to the meeting place
    [IMG]

Gary rode all the way from San Dimas, very impressive. He's a very good rider as well.

We waited for like 20 minutes for the others to show up, but we realized, it was just us.

We took Little T to SCD and the road was wet but no debris. It was pretty foggy too and since I was leading, the ride in the twisties was uneventful.

Airing down at the SCD trailhead
    [IMG]

Scary, I found out that no need to air down, my front tire has only 2 psi of air. I'm glad my tire didn't come off while on Little T. The Dunlop 908s have stiff sidewall and that held up very well.

Good thing there was no puncture, just a defective schraeder valve, thanks again Sito for figuring out, and Mike for all the pump and labor.

I don't think this picture belong here, but what the heck. Sito always do that at the trail head every time.

We were the only ones on the trail, and as expected, no dust and plenty of good traction.

We have to be real stupid to ride away from the blue sky
    [IMG]

    Into the dark clouds
    [IMG]

Undecided whether to take the long or short route, we opted for the longer one, since we promised ourselves a 100 mile ride today.

I love breaks, and as usual when I get there, the FFs hurried up and took off their helmets and pretended they been there for some time. Come on guys, show a little respect.

Gary was quick in getting up, just a slip up.

You could see the smile through his helmet[IMG]

    BPL Road
    [IMG]

BPL stands for big power lines?

Gotcha Nowwhat! Hmmm....a little humbling experience huh!

Still Nowwhat made it after all, back to being a mortal!

Sito gave it a shot, not just once but twice! I have to give it to you for riding the 950A so well!

Soaking up all the EMF in the area
    [IMG]

    Another view from the trail.

This guy is just happy to be riding today
    [IMG]

After we did Mt. Gleason, we crossed AFH, and continued on 3N17 to Mt. Pacifico. That's an awesome ride and I"ll post the pictures next.

The trail leading to Mt. Pacifico; also the only time to see Snow this month of May! :eek1 First time to ride this trail after they opened last week. Thanks to Don, the Guardian of Angeles Forest, and the Protector of the local species.

Snow up ahead, we don't need ARTBOY (SNOW MAGNET) to find snow!

Like always, I never get respect from the FFs.

Gary, is that a pipe bomb on your rear rack? Or a uranium bottle?

The snow was all over the place, all the way to the Angeles Crest, good there was no ice on the road.

Hit pavement, we're getting close to Angeles Crest

Finally we reached Angeles Crest, snow everywhere
    [IMG]

My 640A was flawless in both high elevation and cold weather. The rider needs a little help, but as long I ride every weekend, in 5 years I will catch up with all you bastards.

The locked gate leading to Wrightwood was opened! Hmmm, need to check it out and find out how far I could ride it.

A family enjoying a little winter games, in the month of May
    [IMG]

We were surprised, only our bikes can be seen in front of Newcombs
    [IMG]

Inside Newcombs, we got a table next to a fireplace, nice and warm, no more frozen fingers
    [IMG]

We would rather eat than take a picture of the food
    [IMG]

Airing up before we hit the road. Makes it easier to do some knee draggin
    [IMG]

Again, I'm very glad we rode today and thankful to Mike, Sito, and Gary for sharing a good and different experience. The wet weather and snow put a different twist to the ride - made it more unusually exciting.

I did over 100 miles and more than half is dirt; the best part, I was home by 2:30 in the afternoon. Where else can you ride for that many miles and still have a free afternood to do other things, of course bike stuff.

The ride down on Angeles Crest was one of the best, there were no cars in front, just us. The first time we saw bikes coming up was at the bottom of the Crest. I wonder what happened to the Bike Safety Rally?

The bottom line, if you don't go out and ride, the chances of having good memories will be diminished.

Just watch this thread for the next ride....

Great RR and pics as usual Joel, if you weren't so far away, I would have joined you FF's but too many freeway miles and I'm a wuss.

I made it home on time so the wife is still happy:wink: It's always great riding with you guys. Just wish I didn't have to bail out half way thru the rides:cry

I too was surprised how dead ACH was? I guess the weather made it to unsafe for a bike safety ride?:huh Only us crazy dual sport riders ride in the snow and rain!:lol3 I'll take these conditions any day! bring on more rain! Going to try and squeeze a late afternoon ride in this coming monday. 2pm to 7:30pm ??? I want to do the ride to the top of Lynxs!
