hahahahaha....artboy knew what's for dinner at home and made his move...., and i would have been right behind him if i didn't get a flat tire....
you 30 something FFs did a good job pushing through :eek1 . that's one hell of adv riding HERE IN LOS ANGELES IN THE MIDDLE OF WINTER. 5 hours across sawmill!!!!!, only a nOOb like me on a good day has that record time. now i knew what trailtrick meant when he said it's doable......
thanks mike, chris, and eric for the pics and ride report....
good job , persistence is all that matters......
Great ride despite all the little mishaps.
First it was my turn
Maybe 5 min into the ride I did this.
When the group first hit dirt I dropped back a ways to stay out the choking dust. Really fun road BTW, nice roller coaster hills. When I picked up the pace I crested this hill and in the shaded area couldn't see the hole until it was too late. The prescription sunglasses and the instant shade didn't help.
Nowwhat got his turn next.
All in all a nice day, brutal but nice.
crazy john...you will be the last person that i could think hitting the deck....looks like nothing serious
by next week you'll be good to do the CARRIZZO PLAIN ride....
you guys are all nuts....
Let's give the local mountains a break, and try something different.
Carrizo is 100% dirt, so the only pavement is ride up to get there and the ride home. There are only a few hard core dirt riding there and have bypasses, so a ds big bike will be very much at home, though thumpers will have a blast.
This is a mellow ride, a ride in the park....really!...
Those who are on a small bikes, you may trailer or truck the bikes and meet us at a place near the entrance to the park.
Here's the plan.
1. LA riders meet at Roxford off the FW5 @ 7:00AM
2. Pick up the riders from Ventura and Simi at Cactus Patch @ 7:30 AM
3. Breakfast in Ojai @ 8:00AM at Deer Lodge Restaurant on HW33
4. Ride up on north on HW33 @ 9:00AM
5. Carrizo @ 10:30AM.
6. Lunch @ 1:00PM
Breakfast at Deer Lodge
Lunch at La Salza

The Cactus Patch Restaurant
197 E High St, Moorpark, CA 93021
it's 2 blocks east of Moorpark Ave.
eric, bring the bro along. this is a good opportunity to wear out those saharas.....
so nw, what's the damage.....by now, ktm santa monica should have all your spares on their shelves.....
Not sure if my brother will be out again next weekend, he lives in carlsbad. But you never know. He will not like riding on the 908/606 on that much slab....
Sounds like a nice ride. I am only 15 min to Moorpark....about time you come in my neck of the woods.
Dammit, I would have to be snowboarding the weekend of the 24th
Have fun at Carrizo, the weather and dirt should be good!
Actually this was hardest off I have ever had...and no damage to the bike...had to re-set the forks in the triple clamp but that was it...mirrors, levers...everything A-ok.....
So, how come so few of the L.A. riders are going to DVDaze this year?
me and luv2race are going in the pimp bus!
