I'll be on the road in a few minutes.
C ya all.
hey guys hope your ride went well today. I had to fix my rear tire and give the bike a valve job. I was hoping to be finished relatively early and hit angels crest for the later of the day but the winds look pretty heavy...
I'm thinking about trying t meet up with you tomorrow. Wife permitting :) She's in a good mood so lets cross our fingers.
anyway I'll keep checking in to see what the plan is for tomorrow.
sad but true, I am out for Sunday. I have to finish some work I didn't get done! The weather is looking a little suspect anyways and I don't want a relapse of the cold I am finishing up. Catch you on the next one!
Jamin and I rode at it was cold. Other than that it was a very good ride.
The BPL road has been graded and it looks decievingly easy. Really, it's worse because all the ruts and holes were filled with soft dirt. Hard to pick a line since they all look flat. Then from there we cut across Moody, whidh was covered with powder dust, fun and challenging. We saw several 4x4, ATVs, and dirt bikes. The lead ATV was all over the trail and headed toward us, but we manage to avoid frontal collision.
We hit snow and ice up on Mt. Gleason. It was a different trail than the one we took last week. Really icy but being on scooters, no problem.
The XR's upgraded front suspension performed very well, stiffer springs and premium oil. It think, it was the poor setup from previous rides that was wearing me out, and in combination with catching up with everyone .
Although we have the time to do Lynx, we decided not to do it since both Jamin and I are not familiar with the trail. We'll save it for next time.
We ended up having lunch again at Hidden Springs, man, that bacon burger was good!
Over 100 miles today and the best $7 spent on gas. I'm amazed by the gas mileage I get out of that thumperette.
The ride home was fantastic, canyons and twisties. We're lucky to get home before the wind picked up and missed the rain.
I was hoping to ride again tomorrow, but this rain as I type might throw a twist to the near perfect condition.
Woke up too late so instead I went to recon the area on Little Tujunga, around 1pm Didn't make it to the SCD junction because it got cold, windy and when it started to drizzle I decided to turn around, then I had a small getoff which resulted in foot pain when upshifting. So it's back to the car for few days...
Sorry to hear about the mishap and hope you recover quickly.
Some of us will be in Death Valley next week. See you maybe in 2 weeks.
Btw, it took me a while to figure out wotevah means!
Wotevah and Nowwhat are couple of the many words I hear from my gf
Hey Joel was your girlfriend pissed off at you when you told her your going back out tomorrow?
your girl talking about me again...?....
Wotevah sorry we miss you.
since you guys survived, I guess Doghouse and I will be heading out that way in the AM ( Watch , there'll be a foot of snow by the AM! ) Damn you, Global Warming!!!
Hey you guys have a great time, and nothing to worry, both of you have done this many times. One thing for sure though, no dust!
I decided to stay home and get all my stuff together for next weekend's ride to DV.
So the little Lady was pissed
Hmmmm.....and the other day she asked me what is a Super Enduro?
...And you said, "Oh, about $14,000!"
Mighty expensive thumper rooster for riders with 36" inseam! :eek1 :eek1 :eek1 :eek1
Well, I was the Lonesome Rider this morning, waited til 8:25 ,no Doghouse or stragglers! It was great anyway, 3 layers cold and an inch of snow on 50% of the ride, not icy though. SCD to Moody to Aliso. Outta town next weekend , so my last ride for 2 weeks! Sniff...See yaz then!
Sorry you had to lump it alone! But at least you had more fun then me today!!! At least I finished the job and can cross that one off my list.
We can get out in two weeks and have a good go at it!
Good you get your ride, I knew it's going to be mighty cold, froze my hands the day before. You did the right thing for not heading towards Mt. Gleason.
Gone in 2 weeks, that means we won't see snow for all the time you're out.
We can do Lake Hughes, Tule, and Sawmill we you get back.
Sorry I missed the ride. Took the wife to the Body Worlds exhibit. Really neat. Plasitsized human bodies. Skeletal structure, internal organs, circulatory system...very bizarre and really cool! :eek1
Museums are cool anyway! I love the Natural hsitory stuff!
Hope to ride next weekend!!!
