Awesome thread... Mostly in reference to all the great links way back on page one. Cool pics and banter all the way to 842 but I am pumped that I have moved to a place with so many places to ride so close.

I did an Ojai to Lockwood to Bouquet Canyon loop Sunday. Found out this morning that a guy from my work ate it on Bouquet about 10AM yesterday. I know some of you guys were in the area about that time, anybody see anything? The story is he low sided and then got hit by a car. Take care.

I know some of the group had to route around the road there due to closure.

Sorry to hear about your fellow employee.

Sorry to hear that, someone was saying they saw a blue sport bike (I think) that was in an accident. Do you know how he is doing?

    dude, the coroner showed up:huh

we were coming down Rowher to the Bouquet Cyn staging to head out to the Rock Inn on Bouquet Cyn and around a sweeper we were stopped by 3-4 cop cars, road blocked because of a motorcycle/car accident.
after talking about alternate routes for a few minutes, Sito talked to a neighbor that REALLY liked to talk.
    then the coroner drove up.

dunno what the details was, but that isn't a good sign.

Yep, not a good sign, RIP.

Most likely a sport bike rider? I don't know why those riders push it so hard on public roads! This means the cops will be out there more now.

Looks like you all had a great ride, I had to finish my presentation pkg and my briefing went super well this AM, so the w/e effort paid off big time! :clap

damn, I hate hearing about these things

I was one of those who had to turn around & re-route.....half a dozen CHP cars on scene, passed the coroner's van going up as I was going back down Bouquet Canyon

did you know the guy well, Chris?

...I cringed when I heard that on the radio this morning, hoping at least it was none of you guys. The description sounded real bad but I won't iterate.
I was going to head up Bouquet yesterday right about that time.
Glad I decided to head east instead. Saw plenty of snow and mud up thataway...

happened just minutes after i rode past that area, 3-4 miles south of the trailhead.

while i was waiting for you guys on rowher trailhead off bouquet, couple of people stopped and told me that there was a blue bike that got in a crash; went underneath a car. they may be thinking i'm with him.

my first thought was "who's riding a wr or drz?". my condolence to the family of the deceased.

btw jm, you're canyon riding skill was very impressive. i tried to keep you within sight on the way home on little t but you're just too fast for me...no intention of pushing you to ride faster since that could be fatal.....:gerg

agree it was fun and we had the perfect riding weather.

bouquet is a beautiful road but lots of blind corners; this one is not as tight as the others.

I like to pretend I got a supermoto sometimes but last night I just wanted to get out of the canyon before it got dark. I got this phobia about hitting a dear. I can't wait until my RD350 is on the road then I can really have some canyon road fun:ricky

Word here at work is he was a new guy here in our special effects dept., middle -ager getting back into riding after being off bikes for a long time. That's an all too common scenario. I didn't know him personally.Glad to hear you guys had a good safe ride!

I'm not sure going 90 @ dusk is a better deer avoidence system than just going slow in the dark:deal

I love this shot. It would be nice with a better camera/lens. But I still love it.
