Do you guys think the Calico's / Mule Canyon is going to be packed this weekend ?

thinking of taking some of me guns out and I generally like that area in the winter because I generaly do not see very many people..but my guess is with the holiday it will be packed ? any first hand thanksgiving weekend experiance from up there ?

We shoot out there a lot too Jeff. There are plenty of camps so it shouldn't be an issue. There will be folks out there, but they'll be at the campground in Calico and/or driving jeeps around.

Another favorite 'shootzenfest' camp is out Redrock/Inyokern Road across from Dove Springs. Some nice group camp pull offs and shoot into the hill. Just north of Redrock Canyon SP. Never see a soul out there.

Moved on to greener pastures. Might make it over to the Orleans Saturday night, depending on this weekend's riding scgedule.

    This Mule Canyon? Link

Last year the LA-B-V ride went right through there, ~500 riders on Saturday morning. :D

No joke, I bet the people parked in the canyon in RVs loved having us ride through there at 6-7am. There was quite a few people there, IIRC...

Thanks for the heads up I will have to check that redrock spot out some time.

I usually only go to Mule Canyon in the winter on non holiday weekends and generally have the run of the place :D

:rofl I remember riding through there last year at a little after 6:00 thinking all those campers were wondering WTF is happening. I thought it was kind of funny right until we rode out of the canyon and straight into the rising sun ... couldn't see 2 feet past my front wheel.
