Thanks speedygee. I did find this, which sounds like a useful resource:

I'm hoping to do a practice run this Sunday 11/4 if anyone is interested. Then either the Husky ride next weekend, or maybe even the Dash depending on what happens. Not sure if I want to ride the weekend before LAB2V. :rofl

Had a great day out in the desert today doing another LAB2V prep, perfect weather no wind and had the desert to ourselves. Rode from the beach to Adelanto then via mostly dirt to 4 corners after a bunch of detours trying to get around the El Mirage fence we ended up on the sandy powerline road. Then off to the Husky riding a lot whoops, then sandy whoops, then a nice section of open desert single track with out whoops:clap:clap then finishing off with a fun sandy run up a wash to Bird canyon? Bird spring canyon? and lunch at the Memorial. Excellent ride, long day.

    Thanks!

That doesn't mean I won't roost your face off. :D

bigtodd, are you riding your 1200?

I have 3 different bikes I can complete this ride with, but if I can ride with someone with a similar type of big bike, that sounds more fun to me.

PS Eric is a pussy. My 9 year old daughter can out-deadlift him... :D

I am riding the 1200 but it will be a much different ride than last year ... new suspension and a 21" wheel up front. Deep sand is no longer the enemy to be feared. Would love to try and keep up with you for 2 days.

rooms in Palmdale are easy to find.... Motel 6 and other motels near the Palmdale Supercycles...

rooms in Barstow are not as easy at this point... California Inn has LAB2V rates and has "continental breakfast" available at 5AM (6AM is the earliest you can leave Ramada at the check point)

there also is a Motel 6 in Barstow and some others that are still available.

rooms in Las Vegas at the Orleans can be tricky. in years past, they will tell you they are sold out when they actually save quite a few for the day of for the last minute people. :dunno

that being said, i have a room with 2 beds in Palmdale, Barstow, and in Vegas and had a buddy bail. so if 1 person needs a place for LAB2V each night, hit me up. in years past, i've even stayed on the floor, so if it comes down to it, i'd be open to a 3rd person if they were okay with sleeping on the floor. :freaky

D37 site says there's only 100 spaces left. Gonna be a big ride
    Getting very stoked :ricky

There's still valuable spot left to ride with me!
Medium relaxed pace all the hard ways. Lotsa jokes and charming mis-understandings

Was going to ride with Razr but he's going for podium points. :deal

Anyone who rides a 990 both days gets a domestic beer or well drink from me :lol3 :freaky

    :D

I was planning on renting a $19.95 U-haul and hauling home Monday, but evidently they don't rent anything less than $187 one way from LV to River City. :pissed

Looks like I'm riding home Monday at this point, but if there is space in a truck for an extra bike, leaving Monday after about 9am, I'm good for some gas money and you can drop me off at the 138 McDonalds / 215 /15 split if you aren't going towards Riverside. :D

I could be down for sharing a truck ride back to anywhere near LA, but only if we left by 6am on Sunday morning. Otherwise I am slabbing it back on the WR250R. :eek1
