Much more open, almost 100% sand. Basically four wheeler trails except for a small area. Fun but not challenging in the least. Call before you haul or ck on the FS site. It closes for long periods, usually in the spring.

Are there a lot of gravel/dirt roads to ride in that area?

I didn't get a chance to ride. Ended up cleaning the garage all day. I haven't found many dirt roads in my area.

Weave hides the good stuff over in your neck of the woods, Southern9.

Maybe he'll see his name mentioned and jump in to lend a hand.

Always happy to lend a hand...go for a ride
Not a lot of gravel but the back roads are so good you won't really miss the dust

We need to get together and compare roads someday. I know a lot of roads in the area, but am always willing to learn more.

Hey yall new guy on the northshore here. I recently acquired a KLR 650 and took it for my first lengthy ride today and ended up at Red Bluff Mississippi. See attached screen grab. The route took me on hills and curves and straights both on and off road. Pretty cool! I saw a bunch of what looked like 4 wheeler trails running off of Choctaw Rd (without gates!) that I'd like to check out when it's not hunting season. Anyway hope to do some riding with you folks should the occasion arise. Screenshot_20161223-174113.png

Hello BeetleBones, it's always great adding more Louisiana riders!
Red Bluff, yup been there a few times here was one of my RR on it - http://advrider.com/index.php?threads/denham-springs-la-to-red-bluff-ms-back.709777/
Last time I went (about 4 months ago) the road has completely eroded away, nuttin but a single track trail to get to other side.
I look forward to meeting you and your klr somewhere down the road.
Give a shoutout in advance of planning a ride if you can next time, there are a lot of lurkers on here that look for any chance to ride with others.

You mean like this? Lol IMG_20161223_175627_638.jpg

There seems a whole bunch of interesting routes to get to Red Bluff from my area... I'm planning on making the run a different way next week maybe Wednesday if anyone wants to meet up somewhere in the Mandeville Abita Lacombe triangle.
