Don't stuff it on day one this year, OK?

Day 2 is all smooth, graded, scenic roads. :augie

    Thanks

I've been wanting to do this for a few years so... What better time to start than the 25th LA B to V. I'm planning on doing the hard ways provided I can find a few guys that won't leave my butt out there. :D I'll be on the 450x more than likely but not real sure if I should go with the 13/49 or the 14/49 gearing. Hows the technical sections? None of my riding buddies could get passes but I figure I only have so much time to live large so I'm all over it.

I'll be the guy at the finish with a big sign on my chest looking for a ride back to Lancaster. :1drink

Lot's of mileage to cover each day and the technical sections are a small part of the deal......I'd go with the 14 up front if I was riding my 520 and incorporating the hardways.......I'm planning on riding the easy ways on my 620 (15 or 16/40)

Maybe this year I'll crash on my way to the start. Just get it over with, you know.

    Graded, scenic roads? Bullshit! ;)

Hope to see you and Krok out there.

    stats:

left L.A. at 5AM on friday to meet TRID to make it to Lancaster by 6ish

    got home tonite at 7:45

    many many many beers consumed:beer

400+ miles ridden in 2 days, 90% dirt

friday rode 7 AM til 5:30 PM

saturday rode 6:30 AM til 4:00PM

(pssst what happens in vegas ......)

met some amazing ppl and a few of the AMA District 37 head guys, re-met CA STU on the highlight of day 2 in Red Rock Cyn(the most amazing views and rock structures).

day 1 while registering, ran into Chris (knrlkrn) so we had a strong rider and an amazing guy to ride with, as well as Paul(trid) , Duane(the regulator) , and some others.

only bike problems besides the shit stock suspension on the KLR( which i am taking donations now for a new set up ! ! !:evil ) was trid on day 2 had his muffler bolt fall out, put another smaller one in, broke, bail wired it together, broke, then cut a chain link fence from an abandoned gas station, oh yeah, AND while all this was happening his subframe broke.

i just want to say thanks to duane, paul and chris for a fucking rad time!!!!:rilla

next year i wanna see more of you FFs on this EPIC ride!:deal

there were hard sections, HERO sections and easy routes so everyone on here could go and have a blast!!!

    here's a teaser, more pics later....:slurp

WAY steeper than it looks! if you have ever skiid or snowboarded, this is equivalent to a black diamond run!!!

Did saturday only, some very nasty sandwashes early on, 6 1/2 hours riding 250 miles, 3 1/2 hours taking breaks, peeing , gassing, lunch, helping others, getting helped, shooting the breeze. What a blast. Just got home to Fresno. Put the bike down twice very early in slow very soft sand dunes, put foot down and just sank and just kinda fell over at 3 mph. Vibrated rear light and turn signal off on my DR 650, buddy's XR 400 did the same thing.
