I'm planning on leaving Thursday afternoon, getting as far as Salem, or Eugene if I can.

By Friday evening I'll be in Napa. There is an In-n-Out in Napa, amazingly enough. I'm sure it has a fine wine list. There aren't any much further north than that, except for Redding and Chico on the I-5 corridor.
And, no, I'm not some kinda buger freak, I just looked here.

If you were to head south, when would you leave?

Well, like I said, I am going to end up spending most of the weekend hanging with my sister, but if we end up hooking up in Napa, that'd be great.

Friday I plan on leaving Salem by 7 am, because I want to have ample time to enjoy Norcal.

Pop me a pm, and let's see it we can make something work.

ok, I gotta confess, my favorite part of eating at In-N-Out is taking a little piece of red electrical tape, and covering the B and the R in burger, which gives you an "In-N-Out Urge" sticker.

    yummy.

There's an In n Out a block from me right now. And I'm one of the few who has to disagree that they are the best burgers around. Must be because you can't have them. Kind of like when Krispy Kreme was the best doughnut when there was only one store in LA and now there's one everywhere they suck.

But anyway on Labor Day if you are anywhere near it do not hesitate to take the Lost Coast Highway and especially the amazing dirt section into Whale Gulch.

Labor Day is the Annual Whale Gulch Fire Department Bake Sale and you will not get a finer collection of pastries baked (literally) by the most classic collection of ex hippies and pot growers you've ever laid eyes on.

I had the honor of experiencing this a few years back and it is a classic. Please post pics if you meet them. Especially the "mayor".

I'm not sure where Whale Gulch is, but I just moved onto the Lost Coast Hwy (in Petrolia- literally! I live across the street from the store) and I can vouch for the fun factor on King's peak Road, connecting to Usal Rd down to hwy 1 north of Ft Bragg near Rockport. When you come thru town, stop and you'll probably be able to talk me into riding south for a ways w/y'all! Look for the MotoMedic van and the KTM 950!

I know of an Iron Butt Harley rider that travels all the way from San Francisco to Idaho somewhere to get a burger. Must be some burger! Anyone know of this infamous burger joint?

This should be it. Never been there, but the guys on the LDrider list mention it every year.
