Thanks John! Proud as can be to be a part of this.
Right on Guys!
Wish I could make it down there this year, but I'll be watching the action from afar and sending positive vibes in your direction! Looking like it's going to be a blast!
We had a local upholsterer do the seat for Honzilla and it was less than stellar.
Danny convinced me to try to do the foam ourselves. So we bought some foam and made our own "foam cutter".
So with an old hacksaw blade, a car battery, jumper cables, battery charger and a bucket of salt water we were in business.
And now for the secret to our "kick ass" seat....
Yup, you arent seeing things, those are el cheapo walmart gel insoles. We are gellin now man. Not sure if will make a difference but after a few beers it seemed like a great idea.
Will take the seat to have it covered on monday. Was thinking some sort of cheetah print, but we will see......
So I leave town & all this stuff gets done. Maybe I should leave more often!
Pretty cool deal with the interview, wish we had been in town to catch that. Glad to hear the cudos for Danny (nerd, genius)... we are real happy to have his input and help too. I heard last night Owen broke his wrist, Bret's shoulder is trashed.... so everyone needs to try not to brake a leg before the race
What do you need help with? Alan did you find another room in Cabo, will we have shirts for this race? Who has shirts from last race? I was thinking about ordering some steeekers. WAZ Up?
I found a stash of eleven of the LAMEco beer bottle opener hats from last year..... I may have a line on another room in Cabo but it seems people are dropping like flies.... and I posted a cool video.
Allan, you've out done yourself again!
I am pissed about the shoulder!!!!! I have been wanting to ride in Baja agin from the day we crossed back into the states in Nov.
Well this just might workout for us, I am going to have a skype interview with them. I will let you know how it works out for us.
That's awesome! I got pretty excited when I saw the ad.
New oil lines to cam
Extra wheels for both bikes
Little blue men generator
Note the custom "lighting coils"
Take a look at the ignition & lighting coils on the alternator. With the Baja Design headlight the stock lighting coil wasn't enough. In true LAMEco fashion Owen just piggy backed two lighting coils together! With the addition of a new 5 amp battery everything worked fine.
Also, since we had them, rather than just bring spare tires we are going to have new spare tires already mounted for quick change outs. Some folks might think that we're super prepared but in actuality, being LAMEco, we're just lazy & want to make everything as easy as possible! :eek1
Here she is in all her glory.
way to go! I would totally ride that girl !
All Balls on Dr Scholls!
I still like the Blue Nun
I had lunch today with Alex at Kali Protectives and they confirmed they are stepping up and sponsoring our helmets yet again. We will be riding in the lightest, most protective helmet on the market. They have committed to provide our riders with their Kali Protectives Prana FRP helmet and level two torso protection. Personally I credit their helmet with saving me from a pretty gnarly injury when I high sided in the dust and whoops at about 50 mph last year coming in on the dump road. I had an epic shiner from a rock but my brain was solid.
We are really excited to continue our partnership with Kali Protectives.
So here is Honzilla with her new custom dr sholls seat. Look out Renazco .
