Looks like Owen could be a contender! Just registered him for Honzilla 888, so that is great news!

LAMEco's foam cutter deserves a little explaining. Imagine a 5" long 2x4 with a hack saw blade wrapped around it. Then clamp jumper cables on each end & hook it to a charged car battery. Viola! Your blade just turned cherry red & is in danger of melting. What to do? We need a rheostat. Turn down the amperage. This is where the bucket of salt water came in. Never underestimate LAMEco's abilities of it's resident geek genius's. It almost worked! In actuality there was much yelling, ON ,OFF,ON!!!, etc, etc. Got to say a red hot saw blade goes through foam like shit through a goose. :freaky
Copious amounts of adult libations must have been included!:jkam

This is THE VIDEO from last weekend. I have to say that blue bike is amazing and Honzilla is much improved. We played with the clickers and really got it dialed. Can't wait for the race to start.

Talk about a small world. Today I was at my favorite local MX store, Zoom Cycle in Santa Clara talking to Dan about the race when the guy next to me introduces himself as Craig and is the owner/rider for the Yamaha IT465 racing against us. Unreal! Funny part is he is still sourcing parts and putting his bike together like we were last year.

Yesterday during some last minute rider/ bike familiarization, the Lameinator shit the bed.

Oil loss killed almost everything inside.

Good news is I have(I guess I should say had) a pristine TT with a nice untouched original engine. So, we are going to reseal, ring and dupont overhaul the TT's engine. Hopefully she will be ready for the race. Looks like we will once again be seating rings on the lakebed.:eek1

and another spare possibly..... I hear rumors of a race SR500 that as a last resort could be donating to the cause. Although I hear it has 11 to 1 compression and runs on plutonium.

As it sits now it's gonna be a race to finish the motor to start the race!!!!

This is not optimal but will be the stuff of ADVrider legend if it can be done.

hmmm, Let's resurrect a thirty + year old motor and race 1200 miles through the desert..... oh yeah been there done that.... LAMEco don't quit!

No bs Halfast. The new motor goes into the bike in the am. Patrick & Owen worked on the bike all day. Jr. went to Phoenix & got new rings. I picked them up in Camp Verde & got to Flag by 3:00 pm. By 5:00 a complete motor sat on the bench. Will post pics am of the completed bike.
When we examined the countershaft seal we discovered it was an after market piece of crap installed incorrectly. No wonder it failed. It made me realize two things. Never expect anything done by anyone before you will be OK. This is a well known lesson that must be repeated until finally learned. Two, our luck is still holding. It could have failed Sunday on the lake bed. That's why we're LAMEco. Still learning. :freaky:y0!

Kawasaki lost the last 1000 because they did not check everything in their engine.
